Hello,

I’ve been having now constant feeling of pressure that becomes painful on my right side for about a month now. I’ve seen my GP and had an ultrasound to check my gallbladder, and the results were OK. Even though I feel pain on the upper right side, they did check for appendicitis, too – of course, nothing there. The pain does get worse after I eat, even though I’ve been trying to avoid too large meals. My GP is referring me to gastroenterologist for more tests, but I’m not quite sure what they think they might find. I’m, besides this, generally healthy 29 year old female, maybe a bit overweight, but below the obesity limit. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this constant right side pain?

Hello, Guest!  Are you having problems with your bowel movements?  Have they checked your liver for any issues since it lies on your right side.  If they don''t see anything through a CT or whatnot, then it could possibly be a redundant colon (where the colon is twisted).  You could also possibly have a bowel obstruction.  Another thing could be delayed gastric emptying.  I don't think you can do anything until your gastroenterologist checks you over. Good luck and I hope everything comes out ok for you.

Has anyone else had this happen to you?  What did they find was causing all the discomfort and pain?
