Hi! I'm on my second month of the pill, and I read somewhere that spotting in the first 3 months of starting the pill is common. However, ever since I STARTED it, I have medium-heavy spotting every day, and sometimes it's as if I'm just getting my period constantly! It's driving me crazy. I went off the pill for 5 days on order of my doctor just to re-regulate the monthly schedule of my actual period, and the spotting stopped as soon as I stopped taking the pill. Is there any other way to lessen the spotting? It's becoming a huge daily problem, and I'm not sure what else to do.
What type of the pill are you on? The thing is, stopping the pill should cause the bleeding, not stop it and since you've been spotting/bleeding every day for two months this might start to cause serious risks to your health, like anemia. So, yes, three months are the usual period your body needs to adjust itself to hormones from the pill, but in this case, where you bleed everyday, maybe the best thing would be for you to see your doctor and re-evaluate if this type of birth control pill is the right one for you. I don't think they had in mind everyday spotting when they put that limit of three months.
