You have someone from the 'other side' visiting you. That person smoked when alive, and uses it as a symbol to let you know he/she is around and looking after you.
I have the same experience, When I do, I say 'hi' to my dad, and thank him for looking after me.

I have gong to my doc, been treated for sinus infection that I didn't have, and am still have this awful cigarette smell, that follows me everywhere, in my nose and throat. It waxes and wanes but is there. My doctor said "well that is different". As I have had a brain tumor in the distant past, I worry.

NO your not loosing it ! I haver been going through the same thing for a couple of months now and it is driving me crazy ! I keep asking my wife and she say's no she does not smell it , but it is really starting to get to me, I can't settle down to sleep, I keep smelling it, and neither of us HAVE EVER SMOKED, we don't drink or do drugs, my house is kept clean and only when it seems like other smells are right in front of me, can I get a little relief, this is nuts and there has to be an answer. SO NO your not crazy, I have been going through the same thing for about three months now. Sincerely Paul S

I don't take any medications and am not around smokers
Mine started after I was at a friends house for dinner and they both smoke. I thought it was the residual effects for the first few days. It has been weeks. I quit smoking 6 years ago and am never around smokers.
I notice my symptoms are worse in air conditioning. I am glad to see that so many others have the same thing and I am not crazy.

I have had the same problem with smelling smoke intermittantly but mostly in my office and living room.  Sometimes I smell it while driving in the car. Never in the grocery store or library.  Very weird.  I'm thinking it's some hysterical manifestation from my past (grandmother used to smoke and I couldn't stand it).  I'm a non-smoker.  I recently got tested for chemical sensitivity and am allergic to Mercapto and Tocopherol.  Also have allergies to the normal pollen as well as cats and dogs.  I've recently (4 months ago) started hormone replacement therapy (estrogen) and think that may have something to do with it.

Such a strange symptom and hopefully it will go away.  I feel all that everyone has posted here and thought I was going bonkers.

Let's solve this problem, can we?

In the past two years I too have suffered from this 'smelling cigarette smoke' syndrome. According to the Dr. Weil page it's been noted as, phantosmia or "phantom smell," also called "olfactory hallucination" and defined as smelling something that simply isn't there. Unfortunately, this implies it's all in our heads - as far as I'm concerned this is completely unacceptable!

As an energy light worker I am convinced it exists in spirit realm and, because I am highly intuitive and able to access information from astral realms, I am also more susceptible to smelling it than anyone else. The fact that it is becoming so common, especially to females, at a time when there is a great vibrational shift occurring leads me to believe that it is not something to be ignored and passed off lightly as a figment of our imaginations.

Unfortunately I have more questions than answers but will continue to work with my angels and guides in hopes of better understanding it.

Update: according to Archangels Michael and Raphael, a gemstone water made from polished and tumbled Peridot will help.

In ancient times, Peridot was used to keep away evil spirits, and continues today to be a protective stone for one's aura. It purifies the subtle and physical bodies, and the mind, releases 'old baggage', and releases negative patterns and old vibrations so that a new frequency can be accessed.

To make peridot gemstone water, place a Peridot gemstone in a small mason jar with a lid, fill it with bottled (distilled) water - NEVER TAP WATER! - fasten the lid and leave the jar outside in the sun or on a sunny window sil for a few hours.

If you aren't comfortable making or consuming gemstone water, you could always wear the crystal next to your skin at the throat, liver, or heart. Personally, I like to tuck stones inside my bra. I also wear a little crocheted pouch that is on a long string, which I wear like a necklace, again, tucked into my bra.

I never ignore the advice given by my angels so will definitely give this a try starting tonight, and will continue until the symptoms go away.

If anyone else tries this, please leave me a reply and let me know what results you get. Thanks!!

I have been smelling cigarette smoke for 3 days now, constantly. Unlike many here it isn't intermittent. It is all of the time. I took my son to the state fair and thought it was just all of the bbq/smoking but it wont go away no matter what I do.

I am not a smoker at all and live in a smoke free house and it is with me everywhere, non-stop. The feeling is so strong that I feel my mouth and nose are very dry like I am really smelling it. I am constantly drinking water and attempting to blow my nose with no real results.

After reading hundreds of posts, the only thing that makes any sense at this point is some time of sinus infection. I have had a very small amount of congestion similar to an allergy off and on, but the smell started that night after the fair and has not gone away.

While it may be very slightly comforting to know others have this issue, it is more disturbing is the lack of answers to this apparently common issue.

Hello, I also for about the last month have smelling faint cigarette smoke. I was taking a natural antidepressant, called Amoryn and have stopped for over a week now and still have bouts of this phantom odor.

I too have been suffering (a couple of months),from the same syndrome, and it seemed to have started, one or two days after I had an upper tooth worked on! The numbing agent used, had my upper lip and my nose extremely numb! The numbness reached clear to the corner of my eye and my lip had swollen to the point that I had actually chewed it severely, when I ate something shortly after my dental appointment. Neither I nor anyone living in our home smokes, so in my opinion, this was initiated at the time of the dental work! I have not suffered or experience any sinus/nasal and or throat drainage or even a cold or sore throat. I have at this writing a slight headache, which concerns me in that I’ve read that the presence of a tumor could cause the “smoke smelling” syndrome. Still looking for answer/remedy!

Update mine is gone after 2 weeks. I didn't do anything really, but I do now have bronchitis. Connection? Not sure. Just thankful the smoke smell is gone.

Foe those that think it's a long lost one forget it. They didn't come back to just blow smoke up yer nose or elsewhere.
