At the moment I'm experiencing cramping and I had some slight bloody discharge.. it was a bit watered down with normal, clear discharge. The pain fluctuated from my lower abdomen to my hips. It's not excruciating, but at points it's like a burning feeling. I think that's the best way to describe it. It could be a bad case of middlesmertz? (i usually feel slight cramping around the middle of my cycle)
Other symptoms I experienced that may be related:
- Discomfort in lower abdomen for a while now, slightly felt like a burning sensation, but also had a pressure-like feeling.
- Twice my abdomen has been in pain (pressure-like) during and slightly after intercourse
- Constipation, but that could also just be from my diet
- A while ago my period was being irregular due to stress and some drug use, and has been slightly lighter since then (I stopped drug use after that)
I am 18, and sexually active with my boyfriend. We do use condoms most of the time, and I am NOT on birth control. There was an incident a few days ago where his ejaculate landed a little close to my vagina.
I am planning to see my doctor as soon as possible, but while I can't, I'm trying not to stress out too much about it. I just want to know what could be wrong?

Hi:
The guesswork might be causing you more stress. Try to relax, I know that this may be difficult. I'm glad that you'll be seeing a doctor soon. Ask about a urinary tract infection. That's what I was thinking as I was reading your symptoms. Either way, you need answers so that you can be healthy and so that you can have some peace of mind. Take care of yourself and never ignore symptoms. I'm sure that you will find answers soon. Take care and get back to us with an update. I hope that you will be feeling better soon.

Thanks for your concern! I ended up having a really early, and irregular period. My doctor told me it was stress, and prescribed me birth control pills to even everything out. I have been feeling great since :-)
This is great news! I'm sure that having answers feels so much better. Be sure to follow the pill schedule exactly as it is prescribed so that you can get the greatest benefit from them. Anything else will complicate your symptoms. Again, congratulations for being proactive and getting answers about your health. Good luck!
I'm glad to hear that it turned out to be stress. I don't think a lot of women are aware how their mental mood can affect their period and that's interesting because it does tend to worry women a lot when they don't have regular periods, thereby making their periods even more irregular. I'm glad to hear that you're on birth control now since you are sexually active, because birth control plus a condom means that your chances of accidentally conceiving are virtually zero. Thanks for posting!
