I have had a pain in my lower left abdomen for few weeks. It got so bad 2 weeks ago, so I went to the hospital where they did various tests x-rays, scans, etc. They thought it is diverticulitis and sent me home with pain killers and IV antibiotics. They said that pain would settle down, bit it isn’t. Do you think I should just wait for it to settle down or do something? comments?

I have had numerous diverticulitis attacks and have always been treated with antibiotics at home. No one recommended IV antibiotics to me, also no advised me to be on a liquid diet. I am looking at having surgery to remove a part of my colon. Are you sure that you have diverticulitis? I know that headaches and stomach cramps are signs of diverticulitis. Please, first be sure that diagnose is right.
