I am a 50 year old male and am suffering from dizzy spells and nausea. When I lie down the room starts to spin and I feel nauseous, this lasts for about 5 minutes. When I get up after a period of rest I have no balance, sway to the right and am sick. This light-headed feeling lasts all the day and also I am suffering from a loss of appetite, does anyone have any idea of what could be wrong?
Sounds like vertigo. You need to see a doctor. There is a drug - antivert - you can take for the nausea. If you have a mild case the antivert may be all you need. Some people have therapy sessions for this illness. I would see my primary care physician.
Hello there André2,
It seems that you will need to see your doctor because it is useless to try to determine what is wrong with you like this. I presume that you will have to do some tests such as blood work because sometimes nausea can be consequence of the low iron and magnesium in your organism. This is not such a big deal and it requires adjusting a diet a little bit.
If you are aware of the fact that you are not eating healthy you should definitely try to change it.
Because the symptoms you are experiencing are signs of few conditions it is pointless telling you it could be this and that. Keep us posted about your condition.
