I have been on insulin (label says ‘’glargine’’) which I take in the morning and supplement it with my oral meds. My sugars sky are always elevated after lunch and significantly elevated after dinner. I have heard form few people that have had the same problem and got their regime and insulin change? Shall I do the same and say my doc I need another type of insulin?
It looks like as the regime you are taking might not be the right choice for you. The fact that you have elevated sugar levels after lunch can be completely normal, however, it appears that the morning dose may not be sufficient to cover your daily needs. Before you start doing anything on your own, you should really discuss the case with your physician, who will adjust the dose and/or introduce some other type of insulin. I strongly advise AGAINST experimenting with insulin, since it may lead to severe complications. Best, Tom.
