Do I retract my son't foreskin? If yes, when do I start?

If your son is uncircumcised you can retract (pull back) the fore skin of his penis while massaging. just hold it with your left hand pull back his foreskin down as much as you can, then using your index finger of your right hand you can put oil on his penis. see that when you apply the oil in his penis his foreskin should be pulled back by applying little force. Then after putting the oil you must massage his penis by pulling his foreskin up and down three- four times so that the oil can mix up nicely between his foreskin and penis. Be Gentle while performing this operation you may increase your force little bit more when pulling back his foreskin next day but see that it should not be painful. you must massage his foreskin up and down after putting oil it is very Necessary. Never put oil over his foreskin or you won't be able to massage as your finger will start slipping over his penis when you pull it up and down. the oil should only be put in his penis when the foreskin is pulled back. ( you must massage his penis once every day using the same process) I saw this process when my aunt massaged her son's penis, she used to follow the same process to her son's penis which i have described above.( All this applies to an uncircumcised penis).

Absolutely not! Do NOT retract at all. Do NOT clean under the foreskin, he does that with water when he is older, no soap! And for the love of every thing... NEVER put lotion or soap under the foreskin! It is PH balanced, imagine soap or lotion in your vagina!

i would think baby lotion on foreskin to soften sounds, infectious, and dangerous, and i've been advised NO NO NO ..it will go back when ready..

I heard a number of stories like yours and they seem normal...the males have reached adulthood having their willies washed and ..no trauma! . I am sure your females visitors/cousins etc participated with relish, never met a woman yet who wasn't delighted to retract a foreskin :-) Very little harm is done but yes, it is wise to be cautious and not use force or trauma. however oo much is made of the tenderness of the foreskin. I went to a boy's boarding school and by age 8 they were all pretty robust with them!

Do NOT retract his foreskin. It is NOT supposed to retract at his age. You will injure him if you do. The inner layer of the foreskin in young boys is fused with the glans penis underneath. It cannot retract unless you rip it loose. Moreover the tip of the penis usually is too narrow to permit retraction.

The rule is "only clean what is seen." Just wash the outside of the penis as you would wash a finger.

Let the child retract the foreskin for himself when he is old enough.

Is anyone suggesting cleaning under eye lids as well? Adults pulling back skin on babies penises is instinctively wrong to me. Trust in natural body development, if it doesn't retract, don't force it what is the rush. . The boy/man will learn to care for his body as he explores it himself. As the mother of a son I respect him and care for him by allowing him to learn to care for himself while I provide information and a safe environment.

My sons pediatrician told me when bathing my son to wash his penis, don't pull the skin back for the first year and then pull back just as far as it will go and clean. My son is now five and im freaking out because I can see a little part of his head and it looks like his foreskin is stuck to the rest. Im seeing ADHESION a lot in past posts, so im thinking it will retract the rest of the way when it will????? It's scary because it looks like the skin will not retract ever and I don't want to put him through any pain in his future.

Baby boys are born with the inner surface of the foreskin FUSED with the glans penis. This is NORMAL. It is NOT an ADHESION, which is something different.

The fusion can last as long as 18 years. Do not worry. The fusion will spontaneously disintegrate with increasing maturity and allow the foreskin to retract. The average age of first foreskin retraction is 10.4 years of age.

Your pediatrician gave you bad advice about washing. It is NOT necessary to retract his foreskin and wash. Urine is a sterile liquid and will flush out his foreskin every time he urinates.
