Ashley,
Talk to the doctors at the clinic. There are different options available depending upon how far along you are. It would depend upon the method.
Hope it helps.

I recommend getting sedated, and having the aspiration method. It depends how far along you are.
I was 8 weeks and got the medical abortion and, I know it's different for everyone, but I had the worst pain of my life for about 2-3 hours, and now they're telling me I need a D&C anyway because all of the blood won't leave my uterus, even though the fetus did.
Just get the surgical, and get it over with, is my opinion. But you may have a different reaction!

I personally think you should go to a clinic and talk to the doctors and counselors there about the different methods available to you so you can get an idea of what would work best. I originally wanted to go with the pill method ..but it was assumed that I was too late in for that. Since I have irregular periods it was harder to pinpoint how far along I was without an ultrasound & I spend a lot of time thinking I was 5 weeks more pregnant than I actually was! Haha! So if you can get to clinic where they can give you an ultrasound & pinpoint how far long you are ... I think that would also help with making decisions.
But speaking from my experience with the procedure ... I was 11 weeks & it was more uncomfortable than it was painful. But I was also able to kind of block it out ...the nurse talked to me through the whole thing & I just kept breathing. I think what shocked me most was ...that it was Actually happening! But after it all ... I was able to get up and walk directly after with just some cramping. Also, I am healing fine, there's no pain just bleeding, but the recovery period is about 2 weeks. Though everyone responses differently to these things ...this just just my experience.
