Hello. My mother has a stomach cancer. This diagnose surprised us all, even though she was always complaining about some stomach pain (we always thought it was nothing more than ulcer). The only good thing is that it is a cancer in its early stage. Doctor recommended several treatments, including citostatics. Since the citostatic therapy couls have bad side effects, I guess I would like to know does intravenous treatment increase the effect of Tropisetron?
Tropisetron is a drug that effectively removes the problems caused by citostatic therapy and radiotherapy too. Troubles that happen the most in these therapies are, beside bone marrow depression, nausea and vomiting. Tropisetron removes these issues by blocking serotonin receptors (5-HT3 type in the brain). No matter what way of application was used, Tropisetron always has the same effect, but applied intravenously, its effect happens immediately.
