Hi,
I think you should definitely join the gym if you want. Do not worry about bad effects of gym on your health because there aren't any. Weight lifting will not stunt your growth.
Just make sure you follow some basic rules when working out like eating minimally 2 hours before your work out.
- Drink water during your work out, in small chugs
- Read the instructions before you use any machine, or ask a coach there to explain them to you. This way you will avoid injuries
- Have a schedule or a diary and track your results. You can make a spreadsheet and update your results ( this will boost your confidence over time
- After you are done working out, make sure you eat something. Either a full meal or a candy bar! Anything within 15-20 minutes post-workout.
So, do not worry there are no bad effects on your health. Plus, you have been doing weights before so you will be fine.
Hope this helps.
Have a nice day!

Hi,
Folks are often worried about the potential side effects of joining the gym for teenagers, with the idea that weight lifting causes stunted growth being particularly aggressive. It's not true! Going to the gym, and weight lifting, is very healthy for you and your bones. You do want to do an appropriate number of exercises and reps, and use the correct technique. To know what you're doing, you need supervision. The gym is GREAT for that! Just be careful and build up gradually. Don't go weight lifting every day. Also do cardio, and take breaks too. If you do go to the gym, you'll find people who will help you out with instructions.
