I have an allergic reaction to the above family of antibiotics. i was then prescribed Ofloxacin but that does not work. The cyclines are very effective.
Is there a suggestion for a different antibiotic?
Sorry I need to clarify. The cyclines were effective in that there was an instant relief of the symptoms but I could only take one of the tablets as I would then experience swelling and blistering in my fingers. Therefore I could not even begin to take the reccomended doseage of antibiotics.
I need something without the cycline allergic reaction but with the same effects on the bug.
Also I am in India presently and the nearest Dr is extremely far away. His suggestion for Ofloxacin seemed arbitary as it would be a second choice and he seemed unsure whether it helped. Therefore I require pre-knowledge before embarking on another failed journey.

I'm sorry to hear that the doctor you consulted was not very helpful and I'm trying to rack my brains to figure out what you could use as an alternative but I cannot quite figure it out. Is there a pharmacist who lives near you who you can consult? I know that if you cannot see a doctor about it that a pharmacist might be a good alternative. Is that possible?
The pharamcists can provide anything but they are not good consults. Antibiotics here are pennies but good advice is hard to find.

im not sure if this post is repeating as reply seems to start a new subject so ill make my answer short and say no. Antibiotics I can get but good consult I cant
