Doxycycline for chlamydia

Anyone know the answer to this?

hi i was having dscharges too & i went to my dotor & gave me Doxycyline 7pcs.. now i wa worried wid my husband of being infected too but my husband told me dat he doesn't hav any symptoms of it.. No dscharges wid his penis or any burning sensation wen he urinated..may i know wat's the random testing for men in order for us couple to know wat to do? pleaseee help us..

Men actually do not usually have symptoms. It would be best for him to be checked. It can be done via urine test or a swab of the penis. For the original post, I just found out I had chlamydia and I had that drug twice a day for 7 days, but I do not know if while on it, and you get it, if it helps. Best bet is ask a doctor. I wondered the same thing as I had sex with my partner who hadn't been checked while I was on meds. Good luck.

actually, i went back to mydoctor & she sed i hav CERVICITIS, dat's y i was having massive dscharges & she gave ALBOTHYL for trestment but i still ahv dscharges.. D doctor sed dat i hav to continue using it cioz cervicitis can hav reoccurence & f i dont want it anymore, i should hav ELECTRO CAUTERIZATION .. but I had my 1st dose of Anti-cervican cancer vaccine now..

I am 19; I got Chlamydia because having oral sex... I found out after 5 weeks suffering for several different pains and symptons I never imagine: back pain, lower abdominal, my penis became purple and smaller, with weird spots, oh wow it was really scared, a soar troat, feeling like kidney stones pain, legs pain, and much more... I went for several medical test from Kidney, Prostatytis and stomach ecography because nobody found what in the heck i have to make sick and in bad pain llike i was.... Every doctor asked me if i had sex and did't accept my last sex time as 'sex' because i just had oral sex; but it was enought to get the Chlamydia from her. A urine and blood test confirmed it as a positive.

Finally a Doctor prescribed me Azitromycin 500mg in a 3 day dosis and another a week after again 3 days dosis.... I started feeling well every day much better than the day before, the pain started going away and I was feeling like a person again; so I took antibiotics for 3 days (once a day) for three days , then i stopped for a week and again the second part for 3 days (once a day) and that was it. I didn't check me again I the Clamydia was gone... the doctor said I don't feel bad, or any symptons is not necessary.... Well After 2 weeks I had the fricking Chlamydia back again! I didn't had sex again since the first time I got the bacteria from this girl... and I went to a new doctor he prescribed me doxycycline 100mg twice a day for 10 days. I am just praying it will work and work well on me, I can't live with this decease, I can't work well, I can't drive my car, I am in so bad pain I feel I am dyeing every day.... I will be back here after the treatment is gone and after i will go for a test confirming the Clhamydia is gooooooone forever.
