how does prednisone interact with diazides (bp meds) and ciprofaxin?
There is no evidence of interaction between prednisone and antibiotic ciprofaxin. Prednisone and thiazide diuretics when taken together can cause increased loss of potassium. Human body does not have the mechanism to keep the potassium, so it should be supplemented. It is important to avoid taking anti-inflammatory medicines like aspirin, ibuprofen and diclofenac while on prednisone because this combination usually lead to stomach problems. So, if you take water pills along with prednisone, I guess that you should add to your diet extra potassium chloride tablets; you can find them in every pharmacy shop. Fresh orange juice and bananas contain potassium, so you can avoid potassium loss this way either.
