I'm trying an anti-fungal right now with a steroid in it.

Seeing if this clears our problem up, also I am taking pro-bioitics and vit-B.

Hopefully this does something. My next step as well is to use Pine-soap.

I have a good feeling on the soap.

I'm a 26 year old male and I've been having the exact same problem for a while now. Can't believe it's taken me this long to actually research this problem in depth and I'm amazed by the number of guys that actually suffer from this condition. Like you, I've woken up to find myself scratching the area like crazy and it's worse at night. Have experienced the dryness, chaffing, even little tears in the folds of the skin. It mostly appears on the right side of my scrotum, occasionally flares up on the left and on the bottom part of the penis where it connects to the sack. For a while I've been using a topical clotrimazole ointment. Hasn't done me much good though so recently started using lamisil (actually combine the 2 just to be safe). The skin on the scrotum is flaking like crazy at the moment and after I've applied it it kinda feels like little insect bites for an hour or so but gradually subsides. I apply the compound twice daily along with a rub of lavender and tea trea oil mixed with a sweet almond oil carrier (these are natural antibacterials but not too sure whether our problems are bacteria/fungal related) after every shower. An hour later, after having applied the oils and cream I cover the entire area in baby powder to keep it dry. At times when the itch becomes unbearable I use an ointment called stop itch, works wonders on insect bites and provides temporary relief from the itch and discomfort. I'm mostly embarrassed to see a doctor about this but I guess at sooner or later I'm gonna need to. I don't wanna put up with this for the next 10yrs. When it 1st started I even changed my soap to dove which I've been using for over a year now and never figured it could potentially be an allergic reaction to soap. Would be weird if that was the case (us having an allergic reaction to soap) as the scrotum is the only area on the body affected by it. Will ditch the soap for a few weeks and wash the area with an anti-dandruff shampoo like selsun blue instead and see how that works out. Hope this nightmare comes to an end soon! All the best guys, hang in there!

I had this too.  It is a reaction to yeast infection that causes this. Taking garlic tablets does help, as garlic neutralizes sugar. Yeast feeds on sugar. Cut out the sugar and the problem WILL go away. How many of you have a sugary diet, drink lots of coke or other sugary drinks, or yeast products such as beer? Trust me on this. Go cold turkey on ALL sugary food for one month and see the difference.

This kind of problem started for me now. I'm having it for a couple of weeks now. Since one year i have itching, burning, stinging sensations in my anus. Proctoscopy showed no fissures, piles etc. Tried all worm medications. Also consulted neuro surgeons. As of now I still suffer. But since I got this scrotum problem I feel the same is sort of pain initially. Dermatologist diagnosed it as eczema. So I feel i must be having eczema down in the anal region as well.

Well reading what u wrote gives me creeps.

I feel my life is heading in the anti social direction as well. I'm 21 and all my dreams of sex life have been shattered. I guess we have to find some other pleasures in life apart from sensual.

i have had this problem for nearly 5 years now and its really starting to get me down i have tried everything possible and it still persists GP was usless, creams and more creams altho some calmed the problem it never went away dermatologist were no good either only told me what i already new but could not give me a cure for the problem ive spend a serious amount off money going to GP's and specialists but had no luck clearing the problem, the best advice i have got to help with this problem is internet searches and trying all types of recomended cures from people with the same problem some have worked for me but the problem always comes back even if i found something that worked for a few weeks or a month it always comes back no matter how much i stick to what cleared it up in the first place i am seriously thinking of going to hypnoteraphy to see if that can help because it could be a mental thing that makes you scratch as soon as you feel an itch because throughout most of the day the itch is not there its only when you sit to relax or go to bed driving the car or get a little stressed for some reason the itch appears but when you focused on something you dont feel an itch or even think about it alot like smoking i surpose when your not thinking of having one you dont need one but as soon as you do bamm!!! you want one !! i'm 34 now and as i said have this problem nearly 5 yrs and looks like its not going away any time soon unless someone finds the magic cure for it !!! and posts it on a forum because ive tried everything !!

the times i did get some relief i made a concoction of all different creams i added baby oil ,sudo cream ,aleo vera ,malt vinegar mixed everything together and had a tub which i left in the rest room and a smaller tub which i carried in the car or left in my work locker and everytime i got the itch i rubbed some of my concoction onto my scrotum and it gave me great relief for a few hours and half way through the tub it cleared up for up too nearly 5 weeks it taught ive cured myself only to find it came back eventually even tho i still had the other half of the tub left it never cleared up again even tho i done exactly the same thing :(

after another year looking for more cures i found a post from a guys who said he shaved all of his pubic hair i mean ALL of it and used Vinegar, talc, vaseline along with fungal creams depending on the scrotums stage and it cleared up after about 2 weeks altho he did say the first week was hell because  his pubic hair was growning back and this ment alot of itching but not so much on the scrotum he dabbed vinegar on after showering or when the scrotum is not red or flakey altho it stings like hell for about 10 sec the relief was worth it talc when it was red and moist and vaseline when it was flakey plus he used the fungal creams 3 times a day i tried this because i was losing my mind. after 3 weeks doing this it cleared up for almost 3 months only to come back again :(........i am still searching for the total cure and hope if some of you try what ive posted be carefull dont mix to many fungal creams 2 will do some are really strong especially doctor prescribed ones and altho i still use vinegar to help with relief make sure your scrotum is not cut or open because it will sting like ya got kicked in the testicles if you do get relief or cleared up for a long period try not to scratch if you feel it coming on again i think thats half the battle ...hope it helps altleast one person becausing living with this is horrible

i had the same problem too brother... i suggest you use a less tight underwear. and wash them regularly. and use urea 10 ointment on the affected area. it'll get better. urea 10 is the trade name of the ointment.... urea treats this problem by rehydrating the skin back. the problem may be caused by other reasons like fungus or helminth infections. then tthis treatment won't help. but instead of using topical steroids or antibiotic ointments one should give it a shot. try it.....

I have been having this same problem for about a year although it only seems to affect me during the hotter seasons such as summer so possibly caused due to sweating/humidity? I was also diagnosed with eczema a long time before the rash appeared on my scrotum but this is nothing like eczema that I have had on other parts of my body. It does not normally start flaking and there it is generally bumpy not smooth and tight. I also tried an eczema cream but it only made it sting really badly and didnt help at all. Having a shower seems to provide temporary relief and the less you scratch the better! I have also found that it seems to get irritated if I wear tight underpants that rub against the base of my scrotum but this may not be the cause of the problem just and irritant. I really hope it goes away soon as it is extremely annoying and can get so bad that I just can't sit still.

Lots of guys have quoted yeast infection or related... I started suffering with this problem recently and it is reminiscent of when i discovered i was diabetic.  Being diabetic increases blood sugar and therefore an easier way for any yeast based infection to take hold.  Im not saying you're diabetic, but if you eat or drink stuff with a high sugar content, reduce for a couple of weeks and see what happens!  Better to try the natural way before rushing to use steroid meds or other drugs  I really hope this helps - i know how frustrating it is

I have had similar problems and symptoms to what has been described here. Dry, flaky skin on the left side of my scrotum, and a little on the right side recently. The skin in that area feels, papery, and hardened, compared to what the rest of my scrotum is like. I had hyrocortisone cream recommended by my local pharmacist, but like others have mentioned, this is a temporary solution - but certainly not a cure.

What is concerning me now, is that I seem to have similar symptoms starting on my right EYELID! Possibly, this may have been caused by me rubbing my eyelid after scratching my scrotal area. The skin of the eyelid is certainly similar in properties to the scrotum, so I'm becoming quite concerned about this latest development.

I have recently been diagnosed with tonsillitis and have been given penicillin to take. And now I've started taking the penicillin for days I've had exactly the same rash and dry skin on lleft side of my scrotum Pretty sure this is caused by taking drugs Prescription or non-prescription. Hope it goes away once I come off the penicillin.

This has helped me recently: I take a shower, dry off, put Tea Tree Oil on the itchy areas of my crotch, wait about 5 minutes, then put a little Aloe Vera Gel on the itchy areas. I think this might be Eczema on the crotch. Or it might be Atopic dermatitis on the crotch. Atopic dermatitis is a type of Eczema.

I had this, and yes it seems to be yeast. Kill the yeast by starving it. Yeast feeds on sugar. Cut out sugar and eat lots of garlic to neutralize sugar related toxins. Give it about 4 weeks. Good luck
