I've been experiencing this problem for about the past two months. It's not because of sex, I know, since I have not had sex in a while. When the dry skin flakes off, the skin bleeds. I bought a lotion very high in Borage Oil at the health store and applying this has helped. (Borage Oil is good fro dry skin.) I'm not confident that this is the long-term answer, although it sure has made the itchiness diminish. When my dermatologist returns to work on Wednesday (She only works Wed.-Fri.), I'm going to arrange to see her for an answer. Once I do, I'll let you know what she says.

Okay, guys, her it is--or at least seems to be at this point: ECZEMA. As soon as the dermatologist and I were examining it together and discussing the experience. it became pretty apparent. So I'm going to apply Triamcinolone Acetonide Ointment USP, 0.1% twice daily to my scrotum. If this hasn't fully cleared it up in 10 days, I'm supposed to let her know. Having seen eczema on others before, I think this makes sense. As the dermatologist pointed out, unless I moisturize my scrotum regularly, dry weather and showering are likely to produce this effect.

Just to let anyone know, I (MisterEmDee) left this post but had forgotten to sign in. It directly relates to my post from four days earlier.

Eat probiotics, Threelac or Fivelac is the best. Apply diluted tea tree oil to the area. In a couple of months your problem will go away.

"In a couple of months your problem will go away," you say. That's way too long. I followed my dermatologist's directions and am almost completely fine already. Plus, the pain went away almost instantly.

Had the exact same problem. Seen a dermatologist and was prescribed medication and basically taken everything possible you can get over the counter. The thing that finally worked for me was as simple as baby powder. After every shower I put powder on my nuts. Thing is you can get treatment for fungal diseases but unless you take care of the route cause (moisture and friction), it will come back. Baby powder absorbed the moisture and reduced friction. Cleared me up in just a week.

There's a particular powder I bought called "Anti Monkey Butt". The name sounds like a joke but its real and it works (look it up). Its basically baby powder with calamine in it, formulated to absorb sweat and reduce friction. Particularly useful for that friction between your nuts and thighs. And they sell it at Walmart. You can't miss it because it has a picture of a cheesing monkey, with his thumbs up, pouring a bottle of powder on his red ass, on the bottle. This works. One week the pealing rash on the side on my nuts scabed over(didn't even know it was raw enough to scab over), healed up and went away for good.

hi, i have had this problem 3-4 times before and according to my experience it's the soap that causes this problem and also excessive soaping of that area. i found out that blue pears soap cauees this problem for me..i changed to dove and it went away in under a week..but then now it has resurfaced again( though i am using dove)and i am sure it is because i am taking bath atleast 2-3 times a day which results in excessive soaping of tht area. i recommend using a mild soap and using soap on that area for a while.

I too have this problem, but it occurs only sometimes. Whenever dryness condition occurs for me also itching accompanies wit bit most of the time. 2 years back got this problem and after itching a lot it became really worse as a lot of skin got peeled off. It was burning always with some fluid coming and.a lot of rash. The skin in my scrotum had become very sensitive and somewhat thin like. I then applied BetaNovate cream (GlaxoSmithKline). It's available in India. After applying this like 3-4 times a day for 2 days , voila all disappeared

I have had the same problem for about a year. No cure, just management. Don't use steroids to long because it thins the skin. I get little cuts when I itch that heal, peel, then start again. Scrotum only, pink skin and lighter than rest. Itches and when you scratch, makes matter worse. Just have to deal with it...no cure!!

Hopefully this helps! I've been drinking Guiness draught pretty tough for 2 maybe 3 straight weeks straight. One in the mornin Maybe one in the afternoon when I go to bars i also drink guiness. Mind u I live in Vegas so I was drinking it a lot. After the 3rd week of drinking it my sack started to burn sum then a day later became the leathery feeling everyone spoke of. I felt like a snake the way it shed, and at night man did it hurt and become UNCOMFORTABLE. I decided to go online and I came across this forum. I read from a guy named M.M M.D on this forum it's from high amounts of yeast and or maybe a person is allergic to it. Then I thought, that made sense I HAVE NOT TOUCHED A BEER IN 3 to 4 days I bought some Aloe gel Brand name Banana Boat and my sack is back to normal! Never seen a dr but the high amount of yeast was it for me. IF U DRINK BEER AND U HAVE THIS STOP DRINKING IT IF U WANT UR SACK BACK TO NORMAL. Rest on the breads, an use the aloe gel and it will go away. I NEVER EVER WRITE POST BUT THIS sh*t HERE I WISH ON NO MAN. Hope this helps someone!

I too have this issue. Itchiness, dry skin, very flaky - particularly after a night of scratching. But i seem to have across a home remedy / cure. Firstly, keep your fingernails short to avoid too much "damage" with overnight scratching. I use a combination of an anti-fungal cream, like Daktarin, and baby nappy rash cream, like Bepanthen. Come night time, i take an antihistimine - hay fever medicine is good for this, like Zyrtec - to stop any scratching at night.

A combination of all these will offer some relief. Keep these up even after symptons disappear.
