On both my ears, on the outside top/front part of my ear there are open holes that seep. I have no idea what they are. I've had them since I was little. I figure it must be hereditary because my younger sister has is on one ear, not both. I have asked many people what it is and they don't know. Even my childhood family practitioner didn't know what it was. It looks like I have pierced the top inner/front part of my ear. AH, this is hard to describe. ANYWAY, does anyone know what it is, or how to make it stop seeping?

Hi there, that's an unusual thing that you have there, and I'm not entirely sure what it is! Have you seen a specialist about it? I imagine that a dermatologist would have a better idea, or even an ear-nose-throat doctor would. What do you think?

My daughter has it as well, it is a gland that did not close as a child, she even gets fluid in it. She had it on both ears and one has closed, she is 13, and we have been to a specialist, who says it is pretty common, and they can go in an take out that gland if it bothers her, I do not remember what it is called

i have one only on one ear as well as my husband and one of my boys from a previous ralationship. we have all had them since birth. ours dont seep on the regular but if squeezed like a pimple zit like secretions will come out. we were told they were open pours by our doc but unsure why they are so common on the outer top of the ears. old souls will tell you that these are the mark of very wise souls.

I have the exact same thing. I have had mine since infancy. I have been told that it is called a sabaceous cyst. Mine excretes a foul odor. It looks like I have a piercing in my upper ear but it is the cyst. They don't cause any harm only the odor. Most people don't ever have them removed but you can. It is somewhat like a sack that fills with the substance that we can squeeze and excrete then it refills and we repeat the squeezing and excretion, etc. It is a simple procedure if it is something that bothers you and you want gone. I am 35 and never had any trouble with mine just a little embarrassing at times. I hope this helps!

I have had one all my life. It's just an open pore that is genetically inherited. There's nothing to worry about. There is a possibility (like any pore) that it may get infected, but highly unlikely if you was your face on a regular basis.I was Told it means you have an old soul. My grandmother was actually happy to see it, since I was the only grandchild that exhibited the trait.
