NyQuil is an over-the-counter cold medicine that contains alcohol. Doctors recommend that you avoid any kind of alcohol while pregnant because of its side-effects on the fetus. Always contact you doctor before trying to take any medication other than Tylenol while you are pregnant.

I agree with TheGeeze, NyQuil can be harmful if you are pregnant and it is wise to consult your physician about the recommended dosage, if any. I remember catching the flu or colds during pregnancy and it was rough, but the doctor would always tell me to simply wait it out. Meaning, there was not much I could do other than push a lot of fluids and get ample rest. I am not aware of many cold medications (over-the-counter) that are recommended for pregnant women. Does anyone have any recommendations? Your local health-food store may be your best bet.
