I'll give a brief explanation of my situation...After the birth of my second child, I decided to get my tubes clamped..(what a horrible mistake that was), anyways after I had that done I had nothing but problems. My periods seemed endless, I was married and figured I was done having children. So when I heard about the Rollerball (Endometrical Ablation) I thought my prayers were answered and at the time it was.

So it's been 8 years or so and it's been heaven not having a period...Until now where I pray I could have them again. I know to some women that statement sounds like I'm out to lunch but here is the reason.. I am now divorced and have been for about 3 years. I have now met the love of my life and deeply yearning to have a child with him, so my question is, is there some possibility that if I got a tubal reversal that I could have another child? And if so, what are the chances and the risks in trying a have another baby?

Thanks,

Hopeful

Hello! My sister had uterine ablation and she was told she needed to use additional protection as ablation itself is not a protection and that she may get pregnant.
The biggest problem with getting pregnant was the risks it would carry to the mother.

Your uterine cells have been destroyed and a fertilized egg has no place to attach.
It may happen that some of the cells remain present and that pregnancy occurs. Now, the problem is that since there is no lining, placenta would grow into the muscle wall of the uterus and wouldn’t be able to separate during labor. This kind of situation could cause severe bleeding and possible lead to death. Uterine rupture could occur as well.

I was once reading about a study where of 43 pregnancies that occurred after endometrial ablation, only 17 lasted beyond 20 weeks. I also heard that it is possible to perform sterilization reversal but I can’t give you more info about that since I am not a doctor and am not aware of this procedure. I am only telling you what I know from my sister’s experience and a little bit of reading I did.

The only good doctor I heard about is in Georga. His name is Dr. William Greene.

Here is the address of the clinics he works at: Lakeshore Tubal Reversal Center, 2320 Limestone Road, Gainesville, Georgia 30501, USA
Toll Free: 877-588-5594
Phone: 770-531-0012
Fax: 770-531-0053

If not, you may want to do a little bit of research on the doctors in your area.

I had this done at the age of 22. It was almost a family tradition to have one or two babies then get it done (I come from a LARGE family, 14 kids!). I had this procedure done after the birth of my second child. Since then I have divorced thier father and have found a whole new blissful love! He would really like children. I am now 30 and have no major health issues. I smoke about 5-7 cigarettes a day and drink maybe 3 times a month (socially) He is 37, smokes and drinks the same amount I do and has no children. What are our chances?
