About 3 years ago I notice a marble size knot on my right collarbone closest to my throat. Doctor had X-ray done didnt really appear to be anything. About 6 months ago it started getting bigger. Still no pain just hard bone like lump. Today, it is very painful they did more tests, CT and MRI...outcome it is arthritis!! And if you do image search for knot on collarbone you will be surprised how many there are.

i would recommend consulting doctor because you never know the awful "C" could be going on. Best to grave preface of mind ;)

I have the same condition at the right-side sternal-clavical joint and a bone specialist told me it is because I am right-handed and use that side to write and carry heavy items. I am still not satisfied with that answer, so any help is welcomed!

In trying your suggested exercise, I could sense how this might help. Will keep at it in a gentle way! Thanks!

Same problem...no physician takes it serious....so at the risk of sounding like an hypochondriac, I suffer in silence....although it is tender there is no pain.

My 21yr son has a bony lump on his left clavicle at the shoulder end. It's not large and there are no other symptoms. He says he noticed it 6 mo ago. It feels like its just the bone itself is somewhat malformed or raised. He did have difficulty coming into the world as a large baby from a small mother 21 years ago. Some trauma perhaps? He has never had an injury. Always a concerned parent, thinking the worst. I read about Ewing's sarcoma.

I have a similar problem and I am going for a scan tomorrow. I have osteo-arthritis in my hands. I hope it is not in my collarbone. Go get a scan of some sort done to ease your mind.

Here's what mine looks like. I've been like this for about 7 weeks. Just realized that this was like this tonight. THe left SC joint is sticking out compared to the right. I don't know what to do. Ortho said come back in 6 weeks but I don't think he noticed that it was sticking out like this. http://i1164.photobucket.com/albums/q564/tmurrypa/IMG_2572_zpsogcrof1d.jpg

I noticed that my right clavicle bone was larger than my left clavicle bone. I asked the doctor and he said that it was iflammed because of too much work and he told me that it will not back in the normal size. Theres nothing i can do for that except i have to stop working. I guess i need a second opinion, please somebody help me.

Let me know what happens. I had a surfing accident, was thrown left shoulder first into shallow water, and I immediately was a mess. Anytime I do push-ups or life, my collarbone at the sternum swells. I want to know if this will eventually go away. This happened in Feb. it has been almost two months with no pain (unless I lift or sleep on it weird).

I have this problem with the collarbone closest to my throat having a bulb like feature to it that seems to be pushing into my throat, causing wheezing and coughing. I have had PFTs done which were good but showed mild blockage with no effect on air exchange, chest x-ray which was also good. I have noticed that my right clavicle is an inch and a half or more higher than the left . If I put my right arm up over my head the clavicle drops down and the need to cough and pushing on my throat stop immediately. The doctor said there is growth at that end of the clavicle and I could have surgery on it if I want. Is it possible that this grow of cartilage is the problem?

I too have a lump at the sternoclavicular joint. I had a MRI which showed I have rheumatoid arthritis.
