I have had the same problem for about the last 10 years. But it hasn't been as bad for last 3 or 4 . I play hockey and the mucus build up would be that bad that I would have to spit it out or I would throw up . Some people say swallow it but the mucus is that thick and sticky that it's almost impossible to do that. Sounds gross but you can almost blow bubbles it's that thick. I found after constant spitting and once my body warms up for 30 minutes I'm some what ok but not 100%. I went to the doctor years ago when it first started and he said I was sensitive to the cold . Which is a bull sh*t answer in my opinion. I would get it even running on treadmills . I found it only comes on with high intensity cardio. I haven't found a answer yet but it did stop me from playing competitively and I find my cardio goes right out the window when I comes on . I use to have stamina that would outlast most players . Now I find I'm the first person who has to get off the ice . Just curious any of u guys experience heart burn lately?

First of all, I was definitely relieved to learn that I am not the only one to suffer with mucous drainage. For me, this has been an issue for a couple of years now (1-3yrs). It wasn't until a recent and horrid cold that it clicked that this has been a continuous issue which becomes flared and terribly worst when sick. To make a long story short, I did not want to take Mucinex for the rest of my life ( I'm not one big on medication usage). Right to the point- OIL PULLING! I've been oil pulling (with coconut oil) for a year or two now. *Google "oil pulling"*
I had teeth sensitivity every now and then. Last week, I decided to really be faithful in my oil pulling as it eliminates this problem. In that same moment I started to think about how the oil pulls the mucous from my sinuses and chest when in use (you can literally feel the mucous gather into your mouth. Warning! It's very gross!). I decided to experiment. Not only am I committing to pulling daily (20 minutes), but doing so TWICE a day. So far so good. I now find myself "hacking" not because of phlegm, but out of habit. I AM NOT saying this regimen will help everyone. I just hope it will help someone.
ADVISERY: Results may vary. Result above is based on personal experience. No medical confirmation attached. Above regimen does not guarantee issues with mucus will be eliminated permanently.
