My 14 month old grandson, born in Panama of North American parents developed acute diarrhea for 3 months and no DR could figure out the cause except tht it may be the post effect of a virus.
His CF test was negative at birth,
Now when on a diet of chicken, carrots,squash, rice cereal, water, bananas for a week, his stools are solid but he is not gaining weight, and his belly gets very distended with bad gas pains
His appetite is voraicous--one would think he is starving, yet he eats huge amounts of what little is allowed in his current diet.
Gluten was not introduced to his diet until 11 months, but it seems may have been around the time that this started.
Parasite test negative and medicine given for Giardia

Hi Donna, we are having the same problem, but I still haven't gotten any answers yet, we have done every test known to man, still waiting on the giardia, and cdif, and a belly xray result
my son's problems started at 14 mths, and he is now almost 19 mths.
we haven't done any scoping, as I don't know if the Docs are going to go that route. it's very frustrating, you almost want somrthing to come back postitive, so you can start solving the problem.
