Hi. I am 21 years old and I have fallen arches. I am too embarrassed to tell my friends about it. I would like to hear more about the treatment. Is there anybody adult with flat feet? Or is it just me?

Hi. Adults can develop flat feet. That is not so weird. Flat feet in adults are usually caused by injuries, illness or prolonged stress. Pregnant women may develop fallen arches too. I have to say, I have fallen arches as well. I am 24 years old. My doc said they will remain flat forever. If you develop fallen arches by adulthood, they will remain forever flat. If you have so called flexible flatfoot, muscular training will help you. As long as the foot is still growing, you are more likely to have fallen arches for a life time. Treatment includes using orthotics, foot gymnastics, etc. There is a surgery option too.
