it's not impossible to kick opiates, i was on methadone 10 years and decided i had enough slavery to it. i instructed my clinic to very slowly lower my dose 5mg every 6 weeks, this allows your body to slowly adjust to the smaller dose. when i got to 15 mg without any ill effects, i went down 3mg every 4 weeks, and by the time your body adapts to 3mgs, simply go down 1 mg per week and after your last 1 mg dose, you will either have very mild symptoms if any or none. insomnia can be a problem. ambien at 5mg was all i needed and i stopped that soon after. i dont crave opiates at all. narcotics anonymous can be very helpful to many that want to stay clean/sober. especially if this is the first full detox. whether a dr. prescribes a pill, patch, suppository, or lollipop or its injected, all opiates and analog synthetics basicall have the same effects, just some are worse or longer to get off. you must prepare yourself mentally before you start detox. its not a fun thing being addicted. fear is the major stumbling block to recovery. have a support group like na and you have a chance to get over it.

The drug can stay in your body for 70+ hours after removing the patch. That's a baseline that is not counting the cumulative amounts of drug in your system. My suspicions are that your actual withdrawal was delayed because of the amounts of drug remaining in your system.

you should die for doing this. you make it hell for people who Need the relief to get it. shame on your sorry ass. you deserve to have a fatal reaction to withdrawal.

Please help me.... I've been on fentenal for a year im on 75mcg. My body is really sensitive and I'm terrified of this drug! I'm scared to withdrawl from it. Im also prescribed ativan and have been on that for years. I feel like they are making me really really depressed. I don't know what to do. I'm high risk so getting off cold turkey cold be bad bc if I withdrawl really bad I know I'll take something else to try to curb the withdrawal. I didn't research fentenal and you're right it's evil. It's the only thing that helps with my back pain. I'm terrified about my back pain coming back so intense after I come off of it, I don't want seboxon I want my life back!! How did you do it?

Hey to the 2 people that fought the battle of "FENTANYL FATAL ATTRACTION", believe it or not, I have been on the patches and other pain meds., for over 25 years. I'm so afraid of coming off that it consumes my life. I don't want to have fun anymore, even though I think about what I'm missing out on all the time. I know for sure I can't quit cold turkey! Every time I make my mind up that I'm going to, some emergency comes up with my Mother (I'm not complaining) and she needs my help. In the 25 yrs., I have become highly addicted due to being used to the drug and what it's supposed to really do for my pain. It really consumes your life, so if you read this, PLEASE DON'T GET ON THE FENTANYL PATCHES!

I am so sorry that you are caught in this nightmare. I was prescribed the Butrans patch instead of pills or fentanyl and find it much easier to function. I am always wishing I could just be free of opiates altogether! I am sincerely hoping you find a solution. Take it easy on yourself and Godspeed~

Josh you are the exception and not the rule. Withdrawal from opiates especially fentanyl can be a horrific experience. Each individual is different...
