Hey there,
I need advice. I read this book from authors Harvey and Marilyn Diamond, Fit for Life. I liked it. I am planning to go on such diet. But I am wondering if anyone is familiar with the side-effects or consequences, such diet fit for life
might cause, since I read in the book there are no diary products allowed.
Thanks for all replies!
Hello,
I didn’t actually read this book, but my friend did and we talked about it. He said the book is a fraud and also are authors and that statements on which the fit for life diet is based on, contradict the scientific evidence…
However, fit for life doesn’t allow consumption of diary products and that is certainly not ok, because that may certainly jeopardizes calcium intake. But this is not the only thing- you are not supposed to eat some other food groups, like animal meat, which might also result in decrease of substances in your body. In short, that might cause deficiencies in protein, vitamin B12, zinc and vitamin D. So, yes, there are possible consequences and are harmful. Proper nutrition demands variety of food; that is why fit for life is not the most appropriate diet- it does not follow food guide pyramid which is primary source for proper and healthy nutrition.
