I have pain on the top of my feet (usually left foot). It feels like a burning sensation, almost like something is moving around in there. Sometimes there is stabbing pain. It wakes me up at night but lately it has been lasting throughout the day. My Dr. said once he thought it was just coming from my back. Help what is this????? Thank you, Diana
Burning pain on the top of the foot is usually suggestive of one of two possibilities.
One is a nerve entrapment of one of the superficial nerves that travel down the top of the foot

The other possibility would be a ganglion cyst on top of the foot, but the possibility of having a ganglion cyst on top of both feet at the same time is fairly remote but not impossible

The vein in the top of my foot is swollen and feels like it is burning when I first stand up. What is causing it?
I have been having a burning sensation at the top center of my foot. It feels like I spilled hot water on it. Can't see anything. The sensation comes and goes throughout the day. What could it be?
