Hi yes please my fordyce spots are getting worse and looks like a few big bumps because there all clustered. I been missing work more because of this. I need to get some treatment done..I have a lot on my upper lip..Please email me if you can tell me your experience of the few surgeries you have done..In the next 2 months I am destined to get it done and heal by thanksgiving because dinner with all the family looking at my lips omg hell naw lol I'm Brian by the way 27yrs

GET LASER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its the only treatment that has worked. Any reputable dermatologist office will have the correct laser (do not use fractional and do not go to a skin clinic, go to an actual MD). I have tried everything else, all the home remedies do not work.
My derm did the test spots with a Sciton Full-field ablative Erbium, not sure the setting but ill find out once I know what works. Im scheduled to go back in a few weeks. Test spots were done one month ago have not returned (fingers crossed).
She said the deeper spots will require multiple sessions and she is going to also do Electrocauterization. Healing time was about 10 days with no scars but the test spots were small.

I also believe co2 laser is the way to go. People have had success with it and those that haven't either need to change the laser depth or type of laser. I had Fractional done and it did nothing so Im going back to try focused spot treatment

Still no luck on my end as far as getting over these spots. Still haven't found a seem willing to do anything but tell me it's normal. My immediate family has still not formed this stuff on their lips. Thank God. I'm in the United States and until I find a forum that says they are copletely cured, I won't be wasting money on pointless surgeries. Does anyone else have dark discoloration on the lip as well as the fordyce spots from attempting so many different approaches? I'm just lost trying to figure these things out. Congrats to the man who has managed to marry and have 2 kids. I find it hopeful that someone accepted you for you.

So you wait on everyone else to test products and procedures and take risks while you just sit back. Be proactive!! if your doctors wont do anything, go to another and another and another. We wont get far if no one tries to get some professional treatments (co2, pdl, electrocauterization, micropunch, acid peel, etc). Not just rubbing jojoba oil and apple cider vinegar on them.

Not sure about you but living my life to the best will be a much better experience if I can get rid of these. Mine no longer are small dots but rather large clusters merged together with one circle right in the middle that is deep so it turns a dull white and raises the surrounding skin.
Basically it looks like I have herpes breakout that never goes away. So yes, I want to find a cure and refuse to accept it and am willing to take risk for the benefit of myself and others. That's how progression works and cures are discovered.

A strong retinoid cream has helped mine. isotrentinion gel is available outside the US. Since its not available here, get Tazorac .1% from your doc (dont get the .05%)

Hi, I also have fordyce spots on both of my upper and lower lips and I am very conscious of them. I also tried the anti sebum from sold by Anti-Sebum, a firm based on CA USA. The product did absolutely nothing and it would take you a lot of effort to meet their refund guarantee requirements so I just never bothered.
Btw, did anyone try permanentmakeup on the lips to cover up the white patches? I am getting a consult on this next week, just want to hear other people's experiences.

Electrocauterization may not have worked because it has to be very precise to hit the sebaceous gland. I would go back and have them increase the power and try again. I only tried on a few spots and it didnt work but the doc said we will keep trying until he hits it as he has performed it on a few people with good results.
I had C02 done two months ago on one spot and the fordyce has not come back. Im still waiting a little longer to see if its permanent, then I will have a few more spots done. I started with .05% of tazorac which did nothing, then moved to .1% which didnt get rid of them but greatly reduced their appearance enough to where I am no longer self-conscious.
Everyone will react different to the creams. Some people it burns and is not worth the pain. Some people, like me, my lips are constantly peeling and dry. And I would rather have the appearance of dry chapped lips than white spots and white clusters everywhere. I use at least five times a day. Find a good balance of use where it helps but is not too painful.
Your Dermatologist should be able to prescribe tazorac easily. Hope this helps
