Will there be any negative issues after I have my gall bladder surgery?

There should not be if all goes well. Unfortunately bile leak is one of the complications of cholecystectomy. It is more common in laparoscopic procedures. Studies suggest the incidence ranging from 0.6 to 2.2 percent. Symptoms include abdominal pain and some back pain. This is rare though, and you should not be worried about the possibilities. When you dwell on the negative it is not good for your system. Management afterward is crucial as is follow-up with your doctor. Best of luck to you and keep us posted on the outcome. Are you having surgery soon? Will it be laparoscopic surgery?

I had my gall bladder surgery 2 wks ago and I still have the pain under my right rib , just started with the diarrhea this week and always have an upset stomach regardless if I eat or not. Don't know what to eat most of the time. I do know I should eat non fat - low fat diet. I eat alot of rice, potatoes, oatmeal, soup etc. and lots of water, no soda, coffee etc.
Can you give more information regarding the complication of bile leak ( where, when and how it happens) ? thank you
