Hi I wanted to add my positive story as it really helped me with my anxiety about the surgery and anesthesia. I have been putting off my lap to see/treat endometriosis, but after finding out I had a huge gallstone and a ton of sludge that had caused me 5 attacks... I knew I had to go through with it. And it was a huge blessing that the two surgeons worked with me to have them both done while I was under.
The morning of I took a Xanax with a small sip of water. I arrived at the hospital at 6am and told the nurses, surgeons, and anesthesiologist about my fears of being out to sleep. They got my IV started and gave me some Verced. I am a smoker, overweight, and tend to "fight" medicine so I was nervous that I'd have a hard time with it. But I sweetly just drifted asleep once in the OR and woke up two hours later in mild pain which they have me pained a for. I was home by noon and rested and tried to walk around as much as I could to get the gas out (which I didn't feel the pain others were talking about.). I'm pretty sore after a nap or sleep and then it subsides once I get up Andover around and/or taker pain meds.
And this is TMI but I started my period the night before!! They did find stage 2 endo and cleaned it up. The doctor said my chances for pregnancy went from 2% to 25%! I have received so many blessing out of this! Stay positive but realistic :). Please let me know if you have questions and I would be glad to share more!
