just wanted to put a positive post out there about my gallbladder removal surgery. was terrified after reading everything online and put it off for months and months.
it is now not even 2 months after and i feel so much better.
i am a total hypochondriac so if i can say this, imagine what a regular person will feel!
i won't lie - the surgery was ROUGH. it should not be outpatient in my opinion.
i had a painful reaction to the CO2 gas and had to be readmitted and put on fluids and bowel rest. it sucked, but i got through it.
i also did not feel functional for 2 weeks, but saw major improvements day to day by week two.
also - the scars are fading quickly. they're actually pretty cool looking.
once i got through that rough patch, it's been smooth sailing.
and the best part - so far, i can eat everything and do NOT have to run to the bathroom afterward, which seems to be the biggest complaint post-surgery. i added foods and increased my fat intake week to week, which i think was a good way to go.
in any case - if you are having pain from you GB, consider removal.
it's scary, but it really helped me feel better.
