Hi! I'm 37yo female. I have had 3 attacks since October. Pain so intense it moved up my stomach into my right shoulder. I had blood work and have elevated liver enzymes. My dr ordered CT scan and ultra-sound which indicates that my gallbladder has sludge? no stones were shown. I go back in two weeks for another blood test to see if my enzymes are down. My doc said I may need to have it removed? Any suggestions on this would be great! I have never had surgery before and I am a nervous nelly. Plus, I am a mom to two kids. I'm worried about recovery. and do I really need to have it removed? I have changed my diet, no soda, no red meat and no fast food. Not sure what else I can do to prevent surgery! Thanks for any info!

the doctors didn't believe I had anything wrong with my gallbladder until they removed it and found it full of sludge. the only thing they said was good about removing it is that the duct was smaller than normal and the sludge would never pass. Stones would eventually form. Do be aware of everything you feel as scar tissue can form and is painful. But I don't regret getting my removed at all. Diet change didn't do anything to prevent my gall sludge. Best of luck.
