So today I was told I have the HSV1 virus, genitally. I know this because of the pain and small blisters I had noticed over the past week. During the past year, though, I had occasionally noticed the same pre-symptons, i.e. a tingling, followed by some pain in the foreskin. One time in particular, I noticed 2 small, white blister-like things.

Is it possible that I've actually had this virus for over a year, it's just that this outbreak is slightly worse than I've had previously?
