My husband has had a severe pancitis attack. He was in a drug induced acoma for 5 weeks. We owe all the glory to god for his recovery. He is now been off Dialysis for 10 days now and should be discharged tomorrow!! We are just working on diet. He started the lowfat and had to go back to clear liquids.
My question is they are trying to feed him the Glucerna shakes. Could this be considered a Dairy Product??? and has anyone had a hard time with this drink upsetting the stomache?
Sincerely,
Bridget

You can contact the manufacturer by visiting their website glucerna.com to find out if the shakes contain milk products or not. The shakes are supposed to be lactose-free. I am guessing that they are made from lactose-free skim milk.

I'm really glad that your husband has made a good recovery but yes, I think that glucerna shakes are meant to be dairy free. Like hoseclamps posted, it would be a good idea for you to contact the manufacturer just to be sure as it would be a little difficult for him to take in dairy at this point obviously.
Please let us know how things turn out.

I was checking this site to get an answer to your question - is glucerna shake considered a dairy product. It doesn't upset my stomach. However, it does thicken my sinus drainage like dairy does. I really do love the product tho as it helps with my diabetes diet.
