When I was about 8 years old I was riding my bike and the front wheel accidentally slid into a shallow groove at the side of the road, and I couldn't balance myself, so the bike fell onto it's side with me still on the seat, so one of my legs was under the bike. Nothing hurt, but when I got home, I tried to pee, but it hurt so much that I couldn't. This went on for a whole day, and then my grandmother suggested I try doing it in a bathtub, in warm water. I tried, and it still hurt, but only a tiny bit, I could barely feel it. After about a week or two of this, I could pee without pain out of the tub again and since then everything has been normal. I'm just wondering if that pain could've been because I tore my hymen? I know that the hymen doesn't define one's virginity, but it would still mean a lot if it would be intact the first time I do it.
It is possible it was torn, but you said you didn't feel pain at the time. How old are you now? Have you had any sexual activity (partner or solo)?
You could check yourself by using a hand-mirror.
Right now I'm 15, I haven't had sex yet or done anything on my own, I want to check but I'm afraid I might end up tearing it by accident..

It should be no more traumatic than putting a tampon in.
I do understand how things work there, I think.. But I've never used a tampon either, exactly for the same reason.
