I am 26 years old I had the surgery done on April 25th. The doctor came out and said she couldn't see how I was still breathing out of my nose because my adenoids were so large.
I went home same day and I was drinking water that evening. Doctor game me loratab to take ever 4 hours, which I did.
Day 2 I was taking the medicine, drinking ice tea and sleeping.
Same with Day 3.
Day 4 came around I had some jell-o and everything was ok.
Day 5 I had some jello, applesauce and a lot to drink.
Day 6 I woke up in so much pain I could not even swallow my own spit. I ended up going to the hospital and they gave me some fluids and pain meds and steroids.
Day 7 was my check up, so I went to the doctor and she told me the results from the pathologist all came back negative for cancer :) and she looked at my throat and told me that everything from here should be ok.
Day 8 still cant drink or eat anything, so much pain and now I am noticing a very disgusting taste in the back of my mouth everytime I swallow, it makes me feel like I want to vomit it is so gross.
Here I am day 9 and I have had some yogurt today, and I mixed in my omeprazole because I have acid reflux. I am 19 pounds lighter since the day of surgery and I am still miserable.
Has anyone ever had so much problems with healing?
Or has anyone every experienced the taste that I am speaking of? (it is awful, so if you have I am sure you know what I am talking about)
Is there anything I can do to speed up recovery, and also I need to do something so I can actually eat, I am so tired and I need energy.
Thank you,
Destiny
