I am male, I was recently diagnosed with Colitis after a recent emergency room visit. ..... which is very painful. At times I feel this " ball " in extreme lower right area during my pain , and now, 6 days later with massive anitbiotics and laxatives, I still fell the " ball ' come back in what seems to be a few hours after eating , but with much less pain involved, though some discomfort..
I too seem to be able to manipulate it a little, sometimes wit sensitivity when I push on it, and sometimes it even seems to cause a " reaction " in some other area, like gas, but with no " discharge or release ". The emergency room folk recommended I go see a Gastro Dr soon for a follow up to their medication result and diagnosis. I will post more later.
I had my appendix removed approx 7 years ago.

I think many of you can feel your bowl movement inside of your body. Once you go "potty" this lump and pain will pass.

, i had an appendeceptomy before hand, and now i am experiencing the exact same thing as you, i am worried about it being a potental bowel hernia , as the scar is near the bowel and i'm worried about the scar tissue having perforated, have you had any news about what this could be, because i am just as confused as you.

Its one of two things. very common it wont go away. in women.. it could be the uterus. In anyone.. it may be waste passing through your intestines.

I agree with the waste thing, I've felt it for years and it's in different places and  I have irritable bowel syndrome, which means that my stomach spasms irregularly and the waste doesn't pass straight through, it sometimes stops there for a while and then carries on it's way a little later. It's also extremely common in people who get constipated a lot. So don't worry. Ask your doctor about Irritable Bowel Syndrome, it's really common, especially if you have anxiety or get stressed out a lot. or if you have a bad diet.

Ooh also, thought I'd mention that I've got a 9 inch scar across my stomach from a ovarian cyst and my doctor told me that scar tissue can sometimes stick to things that are near it, like the intestine and make it hard for your waste to go through. It can be painful because it tightens around the bowel and makes it difficult to poop. It's called an adhesion. My doctor isn't too worried about it though, he gives me laxatives sometimes or lactulose to help it through.

I am hoping to find someone that can identify with what I've been experiencing.  I have had a CT scan, but it was inconclusive.  I was relieved when nothing was found, but now I'm worried again because the pain isn't going away.  The problem is- after I eat or drink anything I end up with a hardness in the upper abdominal center.  The pain can feel like anything from severe muscle spasms to what it feels like to pour salt in a wound.  The feeling travels from the upper to lower left pelvic area and sometimes moves over to the right lower abdominal area.  So, the pain migrates, but the hardness in the upper intestinal area remains for several hours and disappears until I eat again.  I thought that I might be Celiac, but I was tested 3 times via blood, endoscopy, and siliva with a negative results.  The reason for all 3 tests is because my mother and brother both suffer from Celiac.  I am going to see a Gastrointestinal doctor on Tuesday.  I'm hoping and praying whatever is found is something minor.

Thanks for posting! I have something very similar. My holistic doc has said that there are knots in my abdomen since that's where I hold my tension. It seems it gets worse after eating certain foods....gluten and dairy - I'm not sure which is worse. Besides bloating and excessive gas, I always have those lumps, the feeling of a "stuck" abdomen, and organs seem to be hardening, putting pressure on my rib cage. I even get tightening and pressure in my chest, especially when I lay flat on my back. Nobody seems to know what's wrong with me. I've also had all the scans and blood tests you can imagine. I'm so tired of feeling this way! I hope you find your answer and I will let you know if I do!

I have same thing if u had surgery it's prob a hernia from the incisions . You need to go to a general Surgeon .. It's called an incisional hernia . Your abdominal may have been clipped or ripped after surgery so u may need an additional surgery to close it up prior to infection . Hope this helps . Sick now . Had a total laperotomy chemo , more problems . Only get surgery if u absolutely have to !!!

I'm 29 years old and have the same thing going on..its a hard painless lump in my lower tummy but i can move it around and sometimes i can't find it. When i do locate the mass it makes me feel sick. I'm considering going to the doctor but i fear i will not be able to find it since i cannot always locate the mass..it seems to be oblong and maybe an inch or two in diameter and 3 or 4 inches long. Im' thin also but it does not feel like an organ..wouldn't that be present at all times and not hard to locate? i've also had a c-section 10 months ago..please post if you've found any answers to your condition
