I am so scared because of something that I have noticed a week ago. When I was showering, I seen I have hard white lump on scrotum. I have never experienced something like this, so I do not know what to do. I was thinking that would go away, but now I see I should need some help about this hard white lump on scrotum. Can you tell me should I visit doctor, and how does examination looks like?

If you decide to visit your doctor, he will examine all sides of the scrotum by having your flex leg on side being examined to increase access to area. Probably he will lift the scrotum to inspect visually the posterior side. He needs to examine also the scrotal sac by rolling the skin between the fingers of one or both hands. Gentle palpation should diagnose common problems such as a hydrocele, varicocele, testicular lesions, and inguinal hernias, as well as your problem of hard white lump. I have to tell you that any swelling within the scrotum should be transilluminated for further evaluation. Testes should feel smooth and glassy in texture, note size of 4 cm, shape, and symmetry. Doctor needs to examine individually each testicle, between his fingers of one hand for lumps, nodules, masses, or tenderness. It is important that he avoid excessive pressure during palpation, which could cause a deep aching sensation for the patient. He must feel your hard white lump, if that is on the front or the side of the testicle it is usually painless. If you have any lumps or other symptoms, it does not necessarily mean you have testicular cancer, but I would recommend you to be checked by a physician.
