I swear you were my dad, lol. He has graves disease and had a thyroid disease. I just went through the testing for it. Tired, fatigue, hair loss simple things like that can tell you that your thyroid is having an issue. You can fix it with organic foods, bpa free packaging, and no gmos.

I agree I have been on Chantix for 4 days now today is my first day of 2 pills. I have vomited been dizzy and nauseous all 3 days so far but I want to quit so I will tolerate it. My doctor flat out told me this pill will only curb the withdrawal of smoking the rest is in my head which I have to fix, no one else. I have already started cutting back and changing my daily routines and put lots and lots of dum-dum suckers in my car. It can be done it is just mind over matter and your will to quit.

Hi I've tried chantix twice , went nuts both times. Another story I've been begging someone with a large reachtto take a very serious look at is the poor people how took interferon and ribavirin for hep-c it hass destroyed thousands of lives and after 10 yrs of research i know it ruined my life my brain has suffered long term damage as have so so many people ive spoken to and non of use have been able to get doctor's to admit this is a terrible drug and has cause many deaths by suicide but no ones listening. I know this isnt waht you asked for but if you would just type in brain fog , interferon and life after hep-c treatment you'll be stunned by the shear numbers of people who's live have for ever been ruined by this hep-c treatment. I'm begging you just please take a look into it ,it will stop your head that the destruction allowed by the doctor's who know what it does to us.

Hi Matt,

Just read your post and I'm experiencing just about the same effects as you did. Foggy brain, bursts of anger and deep sadness at times. My GP has referred me to a Psychologist.

Were you able to overcome this at some point

What is it exactly that you want to know about chantix? I have several experience with this medication over the past 15 months.

Wrong! I don't know who you think you are to say ALL 3 months HAVE to be taken. I was just at my family dr's today, been with him 12yrs. He rx's Chantix for me which I took for only 3 wks & quit smoking on 3wks ago. I told him this today as well as the fact that I quit taking the Chantix. He said that was fine! They prescribe 3mos but not everyone needs it and some people need more than 3 mos. As always, if someone is having side effects they find intolerable, or have questions about the drug, they should talk to their dr.

Hopefully you have been able to quit. It’s a little late but I was thinking maybe what I have to say might help someone else:

I started taking chantix about 36 days ago. I take it as directed. Morning and night. I was supposed to quit after the first week, I smoked less, but I still smoked for a bit ( and ya, they tasted nasty). I smoked more in certain situations and out of habit. When I realized how much my insurance paid for it, I realized it was really time to get serious. Will power has to play a part. You cannot completely rely on the drug. Today is day 13 smoke free.
I have gotten the nausea a few times and it was simply because I didn’t eat enough. One thing that does work for me is 2 pieces of toast and have a glass of milk, wait about 10-15 minutes, and then I take the chantix with pretty much any drink. Fruit or snacks alone don’t really work for me. It has to be food of some of substance. A sandwich, a bowl of soup, a burger, etc. but in a pinch toast works for me. And the nausea really is mild for about half hour if I do get it.

I do remember my dreams more, but I’m not having vivid dreams or nightmares. I am not moody, angry, or anxious.I take it usually before bed and it does not effect my sleep. I haven’t noticed any negative side effects that have been associated with chantix. This may sound cliché, but chantix has really been my magic pill. My wonder drug. I smoked for about 22-23 years and I feel so strong. I actually think it’s gonna stick this time! I plan on just following whatever plan my dr decides will be best for me.
Good luck everyone

OMG I am sitting here crying reading all of the articles. I am angry, emotional, experience insomnia - barely sleep 4 hours a night, pee all night long. I am not smoking but have gained 20 pounds and swear to God I am not eating more than I was before. There is NO reason for this weight gain. My thoughts are so foggy, hand tremors, I am not in menopause but go from freezing to opening windows in the middle of winter because I am so hot back to freezing. You cannot tell me Chantix is safe. It is not. The side effects from it are horrible. I quit smoking October 26 after being on it for one week. Took it for one more week and quit. All I want to do is smoke. If there is a class action lawsuit, count me in. This is the worst thing I have ever encountered in my life.
