I'm so happy I'm not alone! I have been dealing with a constent headache now for quite some time. It started 6 months ago, I've switched doctors on a few different occations and I am thinking about it again. All they seem to want to do is pump me full of meds! The latest was basically pushing perks on me. I'm not interested in masking the pain I want to find out what is causing it. 3 months ago I went in for a MRI, I was told that they had seen "migraine activity" and they also saw a small cyst in my right sinus but "the cyst wasn't causing the headaches". I have been on 15+ medication, over the counter and perscriptions NOTHING is helping. I had a severe cold a couple months back and the headaches disappeared, 2 months later they returned. I don't think my doctors beleive me when I say I'm in pain. I have a neurology appt May 27th (soonest they could get me in) I'm hoping these dr's find out what is wrong. I do not want to take meds for the rest of my life, if anyone gets any answers please please please pass along any info.

I have had headaches for almost 6 months now, and found out just about a month ago that I had a sinus infection. They only found that out after getting an MRI done. But now that I got on some natural anti-fungals and vitamin C and stuff like that I've gone from headaches 24/7 to about 2 days a week.

Hello Everyone,

On May 12th I got a bad headache and went to the ER. The pain was burning and stabbing for 3 weeks and I lost 12 pounds from being bed ridden. I was prescribed 11 medications in a 6-week time frame for migraines which did nothing. The pain finally gave in a little but the headache still isn't gone. I wake up every morning only to open my eyes and feel a headache/sensation at the top of my head that sometimes moves down the sides and into my temples. If I try to lay flat on the floor to stretch my legs and try to relax the back of my head also feels sensitive. I have had a CT Scan, MRI, LP and lab work and all has come back normal. I've also had acupuncture, bowen therapy, massage therapy, and none of that relieved the pain either.

I'm so frustrated and find myself nervous a lot because I don't know what's going on in my head. The second neurologist I went to said I may have had a viral meningitis which didn't show in my tests because it could have been in my system for so long....but the headaches could last still another couple of months. I personally feel I may be suffering from rebound headaches since some of the medications I was prescribed can become a part of your system fairly quickly and if you stop taking them because you feel they aren't working and don't taper off properly they could have negative affects. My head does feel a little burning often or just a weird nagging sensation more than a throbbing pain. I also feel occasional sharp pains in different parts of my head. In two days I will have had this headache for 3 months. I haven't been able to go to work or barely out of the house because of the discomfort and not wanting to get dressed or be in a car. I truly hope this will go away on its own because I really don't want to shove more pills down my throat which could have side effects or lead to even more issues in the long run.

I do cry a lot from frustration, get irritated from not knowing if and when it will go away, and in writing this it will be nice to converse with others who share the same situation. I'm thinking of starting a meditation class or possibly some light yoga to try and get my mind off of my condition. I'm told that that stress could also be prolonging my full recovery. If anyone else is interested in meditation or even attending one of the Ashrams in the US I think it may help at least our mental state for now. I know it's hard for me just to get through the day just being constantly uncomfortable.

I wish you all the best and I look forward to hearing back from others and sharing more thoughts and ideas.

Thanks.

Hello dlmiller48,

I know what you're going through...I've also had panic attacks and wonder what's going on with my head. The biggest thing that helped me thus far is meditation to take my mind off my head for a while. Most meditation/yoga centers offer free meditation to help those who severely need to learn this valuable process to free our minds. I'm trying to go a holistic "natural" route since I know a lot of prescribed drugs I've been given can have some side effects or "aggravate" my current condition.

Try to get lots of rest and be around those you love who can lift your spirits.

Wishing you the best and all those out there that are suffering...

I just graduated from high school also, and i just turned 19. I started college with fully blown 20 credit hours every semester, and including this summer. The week before finals, I started to get this headache, my experience was exactly like yours, I thought it could be because all the stress, but even when I was relaxed, it would at the most dull enough not to feel it, but i know its still there. It has been three months, and Im running desperate, Im now diagnosed with depression because now its hard for me to stay at a constant state of happiness. I feel like my brain is always tired, and does not want to think. I cant think clearly anymore, i feel im going insane for having this headache so long!!! I just need some hope to know that there is some solution out there. If any one finds a solution, PLEASEE POST! you guys suffering from this headache, you are not alone! thanks and god bless

I woke up after a surgical procedure that went bad and have been told by all the doctors and specialist that I have seen in the past 5 months that this non stop head ache is unusual and unbelievable. I am glad, but also sad, to learn that i am not alone. My head aches dizziness balance issues and nausea interfere with my daily living. Now why I am writing on here is because I just learned from a couple that my boyfriend worked for that the man went through the same thing that I am going through, suffered a stroke and ended up with the same symptoms. Long story short he went two years before he learned it was neck related. Some neurologist did an x-ray with his mouth opened to get the #1 and #2 vertebrae and they gave him some kind of shot and he was healed. He told my boyfriend that he is not 100% but he can think, concentrate and remember things and his head ache is gone. He only gets one now and again. We are checking into this now. I just learned of it, so I have not even had an x-ray done yet, but I put it here to maybe help anybody else who may read this. Good luck and god bless!!

Hello...I'm so sorry you are dealing with non-stop headaches too. You are so young and I know there are so many things that you want to be doing but can't. The only thing that has really been working for me is meditation and chi kung energy healing along with daily prayer. The medications don't do anything and to feel alone and depressed is horrible...I know.

Find out if there are any meditation centers where you can start a practice of your own, or even start doing some light yoga to try and get you away from how you've been feeling. You will be around positive energy and it can help while you're facing these awful feelings. I've been dealing with a non-stop headache for over 5 months, and after ct scan, mri, bowen therapy, massage therapy, acupuncture, medications, all not working...I really had to step out of the box to find some relief both mentally and physically.

Maybe meditation is not something you've thought of (and a lot of places offer ways to learn how to comfortably meditate for free) so it is worth a chance.

I hope you feel better soon. If you can try more natural ways to heal yourself that may be good as a lot of prescribed medications only help temporarily and can often have some nasty side effects.

Take care.

My husband started having dizziness and headaches in January 2010 - after months of 2 ENT's, cardiologist, neurologist, neurosurgeon and vascular neurosurgeon, a spinal tap, numerous blood tests, Temporal biopsy, 2 MRI's, catscans all over his body we still have no answers - a lot of evil things have been ruled out but it doesn't help him....his pain is in the front and sides of his head - he says he is always dizzy - a vertigo feeling which he was told he had back in the spring - hydrocodone helps dull the headaches but the dizziness never goes away - go back tomorrow for another visit to the neurologist - don't know what to do - doctors have too many patients and I want one that will concentrate on helping my husband - anyone have any suggestions? He has tried topomax and depakote - these made him sick and dizzier........

Hello, i too have been suffering from headaches for 2 months now i am 25, and have had this pain in the front left side over the eye, its always in the same place, i can wake up with it it seems to always be there although sometimes dull, but i wouldnt say it was unbearable headache probably a 7 on the pain scale at its worst. i have been to the drs twice and first they said it was cluster headaches and to take regular paracetamol it did work but i could feel as soon as they wore off, i went back to the drs and was then told it was a type migraine and prescibed me amitryptiline 10 or 20mg which is a pain killer in a low dose but if taken in a high dose 150mg its a anti deppressant, it did work i took 10mg a nite and it made me so drowsy i would fall asleep within the hour i took it, but i then forgot to take it one nite and had a headache the nxt day, in the end i stupidly havent been taking it as i was worried that im just masking the problem and not dealing with why i have a headache and now my headache is constant and at its worse i took 2 paracetamol last nite and it didnt touch it, i went to bed with it and now this morning i have woken up with it i feel quite worried as to what it could be and am going back to the drs tommorrow. :-(

Everyone,

PLEASE read and watch video.

A co-worker sent me the link below for a Dr. at Georgetown University in Washington DC that helped a girl that had a 2-year long headache. His name is Ivica Ducic and I plan to see him soon to see if he can help me too. He does peripheral nerve surgery and many people don't know but your muscles could be constricting your nerves causing the constant pain. The surgery takes away some of the muscle that surrounds the nerves that causes the constant pain.

Hey all, i am 28 and I also suffer from these headaches, they started about three months ago out of no where and havnt left since, i am normally i really healthy super active soccer player, i have a history of a few minor head injuries but nothing major sinice all of this i have had a ct scan the radiologist report came back good but my neuro seemed to have thought he saw "something"and am booked for an mri on the 29th of this month. I went to see the neurologist a few weeks back and he suggested intercranial hypotension for my symptoms (basically a fluid leak in your head and not enough fluid supporting your brain hence the headaches)It also causes some nasuea back and nack pain and dizzyness. The neurologist said that often this type of thing is often either missed or cannot be found in an mri especially if its not something that is a possible diagnosis(re-assuring i know) as for the spinal tap it would prob make the headaches worse if this was something that anyone had as that would be the fluid youd be lacking in the first place. Regardless if this is what it is or isnt its frustrating none the less. Wondering if anyones doctor has even suggested this diagnosis?

I earlier wrote concerning my husband with constant headaches - after a trip to the Mayo Clinic and back to the neurologist - he had an occipital nerve block which gave him one whole day without dizziness and headache, did return though, having another one done and possible a nerve radioablation - also going to see a doctor to have an atlas orthogonal procedure done - there are plenty of videos on youtube about this - these are just a few suggestions...

I haven't had that diagnosis, but I'm heading to Washington DC to have peripheral nerve surgery on the 17th since my headache has been non-stop for almost a year. It is VERY frustrating and of all the tests I've had done....everything looks great. So basically I'm made to feel it's all in my head most of the time. Check out Dr. Ivica Ducic at Georgetown University Hostpital for more information. I've been in close contact with one of his patiets that I found out about on MSNBC news and she had a 2 year long headache and he helped her. Hope this inforamtion helps!

I didn't realise there were so many sufferers out there. My 14 year old daughter has had a constant headache in the back of her head for just over 3 months. I'm at my wits end. On a scale of 1 to 10 it's usually at a 7 and a half sometimes an 8. She never complains and the doctor thinks she's making it up, but she's just been referred for a ct scan, it'll probably be in 6 to 8 weeks. In the mean time she just carries on as normal and I'm a nervous wreck. The only time it really bothers her is when the pain goes to an 8, the doctors told us if her ct scan is clear there's no more they can do for her. I feel so useless.
