Hypospadias can be surgically corrected. Where exactly is your urethral opening?
You should see a doctor in order to get things right, so you wouldn’t have to be embarrassed or scared anymore and so that you can have a healthy sex life later on.
The surgery should take place at an early age but having it done later on is not a problem. I just don’t realize how come your parents didn’t do anything about it.
Actually, the age that operation should be performed depends on the penis size and severity of the defect.
After the surgery is done, you will have no more problems. It would look normal, feel normal and function normal.
P.S. Are you sure what you have is hypospadias?

Also I was born with hypospadia. I didn't realize it before I was in the 20's and had been sexually active for years, though. At first I got a little embarrassed, but I soon realized that I had no reason for embarrassment or shame at all. Sure, I have always had difficulties standing up when urinating - but why should that be a problem? - Just sit down that's healthier and cleaner anyway. Moreover, no women have ever complained. Most of them haven't even noticed a difference. It's really not the kind of thing women care about, so don't worry about that at all. None of them have for example shown the slightest sign of disgust during oralsex etc.
I've recently realized that it's common to operate for hypospadia. That puzzles me. Operations always involves a risk. So if you don't have serious troubles, say, with infections, I would recommend you to appreciate the way you are, as will the women.
all best :-)

I didn't know the name of my problem till a couple weeks ago. I was born with Hypospadia, and it's ruined my life. I'm 36 years old, and I'm married. My wife never had issues with this, but growing up I knew something was "wrong" and was ashamed. It's easy to say to an adult "you shouldn't be ashamed" but as a child growing up, it's VERY difficult. You realize quickly you're different. If you're ridiculed, mocked or derrided... it's a problem. I became an introvert and didn't really date at all, for many many years.
But let me tell you how I came to find out about my condition. I knew something was wrong, but never got it checked out. A couple times I had embarassing moments standing up at a urnal. So i began to sit down from there on out. For the last two years, i never stand at a urnal. It makes it difficult when you go someplace, and there's only one toilet and it's filthy.
About a year ago, I started having what I thought were Prostate problems... but i'm only 36... so i wondered what it could be... They rulled out infection. They rulled out a lot of stuff. But the Urologist noticed i have a severe and uncommon Hypospatia. We aren't sure if that's the cause, but it looks like now I may have I.C. it's not fun. I have to go all the time, sometimes it hurts. sometimes i have no flow. All the symptoms of a prostate problem... yet the prostate appears fine.
I now have blood in the urine, and the Cat scans show no problems. So again it might be IC or something with the Urine track itself.
I mentioned this to my parents and they said, "Oh we knew you had that as a baby, the dr. said you should get it corrected." They never told me or talked to me about it. They just figured I would 'figure it out on my own.'
I now face several surgeries to see what's going on, and i'm almost 100% sure that Hypospadia is the culprit. Do some research on Hypospadia and prostate issues and bladder cancer. DEFINATELY get it corrected.
What this did to my childhood is terrible. I was so ashamed and introverted, I wouldn't play sports... i wouldn't change in teh locker room... even though no one could see the hypospadia at a glance, I didn't want the shame, as I knew somethign was "wrong." Kids don't think like adults. They can't say "oh who gives a ****" They are easily affected.
If anyone's kids have this, get it corrected as soon as the Dr. say's it's safe to do so. Don't be like my crazy parents.
