Hello. Do not drink any alcohol with gluten in it. Its mainly caused by high concentrations of gluten. No beer, vodka, or cognac. Only rum or tequila are.ok because they dont contain traces of rye or wheat. I had the same issues. Trust

Ingrown pimples occur when hair is cut or broken below the level of the skin. When this happens the hair can sometimes grow into the side of the follicle instead of up and out. This can result in a painful red bump that can fill with puss (a pustule). Ingrown pimples can be very painful. Some people have even been known to describe them as an ingrown hair pimple.

You might be right. I tried a completely gluten free diet for 10 days after seeing your post and found it improved the condition 95%. Then went back to gluten and beer etc and the condition worsened. Be interested to see if others have tried with similar results.

Well well well, about a year later and we're finally closing in on the truth with the gluten comment. No need to read Mahdi Malekpour's inaccurate, authoritative 'Answer' to the problems plaguing you, my friend. To all the people saying, "See a dermatologist": You're wrong; you can see 12 doctors and get 11 'Diagnoses', even--amazingly--with your beloved biopsies. Hmmm, does this 'Guest' speak from righteous stupidity or from experience?

The reason I said the gluten comment was on the right track is because the problems come from the 'Healthy' diet. Gluten most likely isn't your enemy, but complex carbohydrates, dairy(huge cause of acne especially cheese), Genetically Modified Organisms(Those GMO's you've been hearing about that intrinsically cause inflammation of cells), processed foods, non grass-fed meats(loaded with hormones, steroids, toxins, etc.), refined sugars and other 'Healthy'(lies) foods are causing auto-immune related inflammation throughout your entire body. You can read into all this for yourself and you'll start coming across big, scientific words explained much better by others that identify what's happening at the molecular level. This truth is compounded by the fact that every time you use hair conditioner or anything of kind, not only do pores get clogged, but they're potentially being clogged by an ingredient that you're allergic to; a topical inflammation agent of sorts rather than 'Purity'.

Hey, you don't have to believe me, just know this: In 1997 the head surgeon of a 'Great' GI team at a leading hospital ripped out my rectum, colon, large intestines and part of my small intestines because of my extreme case of Ulcerative Colitis. Were all possible avenues taken before this life changing event? We thought so, but no; my parents and my uneducated, child-Self were victims of authoritarianism. All I had to do was go on a Paleo diet, a SCD, or a Danielle Walker type diet; instead i had an uneducated, Egotistic multimillionaire surgeon hand me a generic, white sheet saying to avoid, "Greens like broccoli and red meats" because they were hard to digest - a couple of the foods that--when properly sourced--I should actually be eating.

What is the point of this rant? It seems the OP and a few others believe that your admirable exercise schedules, hygiene routines, and cleansing by 'Potions' will somehow aid you in your ongoing battle against this formidable acne; meanwhile, you're possibly loading your body everyday with the very foods that come with inflammatory properties. And if you're a person who works out all week and have a high metabolism, odds are you're pumping about 3,500 calories or more a day of poison into your body as you've been misled to believe you're nurturing your body back from burnt calories. No, you guys don't have chron's or colitis, you have acne - the truth is all are auto-immune, inflammatory issues. Start at the diet, but also monitor the toxic ingredients of your 'Lotions & Potions'. Give it an honest, solid 2 months(some say 2 years was required before they saw permanent results). Research 'Paleo diet', 'Special Carbohydrate Diet', or 'Danielle Walker' and go from there. You'll inevitably have to tweak the advice you seek for your own experience. Everything is going to change - for the better.

I have found the solution!!!! It is so easy to fix!!!!! After 3 weeks off and 3 weeks on gluten 'several times' I came to the clear conclusion the problem was not gluten related. We've all been to egotist Doctors, Specialists and naturapaths about this problem and received many different diagnosis and suggestions that have failed for many years. So this time I approached a senior Pharmacist with a 'dog with a bone' research attitude. After a week of research she asked me some really searching questions about my hygiene regime. Washing hands AND finger nails regularly and especially after toilet visits? When showering do I wash my hair before I wash my body or after. Does my head itch, do I scratch it, do I stick my fingers in my ear, pick my nose, scratch my bum....and on and on. She was searching for a source of bacteria. She surmised that the terribly resilient bacteria that live for good reasons in all our bodies (particularly noses and bums) was somehow making its way to our scalps where it festers and creates infections = acne and subcutaneous (painful) bumps. As it turns out I regularly get a runny nose in the shower and use my hands to blow my nose then rinse my hand off with water....then later I might run my hand through my hair. Indeed Ive been known to pick my nose and scratch my bum on occasion too. Don't we all - when we're sleeping it happens without us even knowing! And yes, my scalp bumps/acne are sometimes itchy or painful so I touch them too. Don't we all?! I have now used an alcohol wash to cleanse combs, brushes, clippers. I don't blow my nose in the shower and I wash may hands and finger nails 4 times a day and after every time I blow my nose or go to the bathroom. I haven't once picked my nose or scratched my bum OR TOUCHED MY SCALP. I wash my hair with an anti bacterial hand soap (available at big Pharmacies). After just 1 week of this regime my scalp acne improved a lot. After 2 weeks it has completely disappeared. Wow!! Such a simple solution provides long awaited for relief. Please everyone try this ....and after 2 weeks...do let me know how you go.

Fellows, me having similar problem. Nothing applied externally on skin won't help. I believe that complete nutrition should be changed i.e. dietary change. In my experience (I am civil engineer) certain processed food is responsible for described cystic acne problem.

I have this same issue, and I actually drink Monster a lot, since it's in the vendor at work. But I'll stop drinking them and hopefully it'll go away! Thank you! I hope this solves my problem, but in the mean time, I'll be trying some of the other things I've read about here.

The best way to treat scalp acne is sea salt. You boil a whole bottle of salt into a pot of water then put into a squeze bottle. Rinse entire head with salt water. Its the best treatment than tea tree, neem, aloe vera.

Then let salt water dry for 2 hours to whole day before washing it off.

I’ve struggled with acne in my face and back as a teen, but never on my scalp. Oral medications will only help temporarily. I’ve also noticed energy drinks Red Bull, rock star etc. immediately causes scalp acne. What you put in your body definitely influences and agitates your skin. Everyone is different and you have to do what works for you. I’ve almost lived on all different types of antibiotics most my teen years to help with my acne. Now my stomach has become so sensitive it’s like almost living with IBS. Try cutting down on caffeine, sugar and any combination of both. It’s definitely worked for me.
