Could be OME

"Fluid behind eardrum, known medically as otitis media with effusion (OME), is the accumulation of fluid, often in the middle of the ear, with no sign or other symptoms of an ear infection. This can occur in one or both ears, and can sometimes last for prolonged periods of time, although this is more often the case in adults than in children. This condition can be associated with a feeling of discomfort within the ear, or a feeling of fullness. In some cases, moderate to severe hearing loss can occur. On most occasions, the condition will self-resolve after around 12 weeks, meaning no significant intervention will be required."

I woke up this morning and I couldn't hear out of my left ear. It's been like this already for 9 hours and it's driving me crazy! I hear the sounds of the ocean in my ear or maybe it sounds like a fan running. I pray that it goes away by tomorrow or I am going to the doctor. It's a scary feeling

Reflux issues actually CAN have an impact on hearing. Acid reflux can also reach the nasopharynx which causes post-nasal drip and middle ear effusion, which leads to hearing loss. No need to be so condescending to others.

What is wrong with everybody left ear lmbo?!?! I have this same problem. I had an ear infection about 3years ago. And every since, every morning it's stopped up, but not with wax, more like some fluid. I'm 23 years old and I don't go swimming when I shower I'm very careful how I clean my ears.

I started having this exact problem about a year ago. I find that taking Sudafed (the tiny round red pills) works like magic. I only take them for a few days and the problems goes away for months. So, I'm not sure what causes it in the first place but I'm not going to worry about it since taking Sudafed fixes it!
