It happened to me too today. The day before I didn't eat well. Maybe it's one reason. Strangely it's my left ear, I hear less on my left ear as everyone says. Well, if I'm not the only one who got this strange thing I'm not worried.
Coincidentally I'm having the same problem in my left ear. I did drink pop last night and slept on my left side. This problem has been on and off for a few months. I noticed if you stick your finger in your ear and sort of suction it, it restores hearing close to normal. But you have to find the perfect angle.
Hey there. I see you all have the same problem, as do I. It usually happens in my right ear in the morning and goes on throughout the day, but I found the solution for me is usually ear wax that is clogged deep into the ear. You might not think it, but trust me, try cleaning your ear out and the deafness goes away.
I had this problem too for about four days and when it wasn't going away, I took five decongestant pills (spread out over the day) and when I work up, the problem was fixed. This of course wouldn't solve a more internal issue though.
I've just stumbled across a quick and effective solution for clearing away my blocked right ear, which has a mixture of water and wax inside it at 6.36am on the 7th July.
Put your index finger into your ear canal, and at the same time open and close your mouth and jaw fully several times, whilst your finger remain in your ear.
Pull your finger out, and notice the increased hearing.

I am getting this every night in my right ear for the past week or so. Happens for about 5 minutes after waking and then it's normal again after wiggling it a bit. About a month ago I was using a pair of broken earphones without the rubber tip in my right ear for better sound, but knew it probably wasn't good for my ears. I think this is the result.
Same thing with me. Any results? Let me know. It's so annoying. Is it doctor worthy our just blow it out gently.
I have had this problem for over a year. I have had a hearing test but it was pretty normal. It is very annoying and worse when I wake up. Both ears are full feeling when I wake up.
I'm just now having this problem for the first time and it's my left ear too
I woke up with thesame problem in my left ear today too.
Im having this same problem in both ears. The scariest part is I'm only 14 which like the other reply said is horrifying that you think youre losing your hearing. Please do tell if anyone has a solution. Thx
I've got this in my right ear now, did you know what it was?
My is also only left and it's not wax. I too can't afford a Dr. but I woke up 4 days ago and have had it for four days now. It is like being in a plane but it won't pop. It seems wierd that it is happening to most people on thier side. That can't just be coincidence. Good luck every one. Hopefully we all can cure our ailment.
This exact thing isn't happening to me too- I don't know what to do and I'm slightly worried- I know that it isn't because of earwax. Someone please help...
I just read 4 pages of answers so let me summarize for everyone. The only real solutions I saw were to take Sudafed and to try changing your pillow...
