Ive only had this throbbing in my right ear for a few months, but its really getting to me now. I can't just hear it but I also feel me ear throbbing. I've looked all over the interweb at what people say about it and what it may be, but to be honest I seem to find a pattern of these poor people that go through so much to find out absolutely nothing from there doctor. I'm really nervous that I may have to put up with this for the rest of my life to be honest. I wish all of you all the best because this is horrible..

My doctor prescribed a nasal spray which did the trick for me. He said there is a small tube in the back of the neck that has got blocked. However it has come back again after 3 months.

Hi there,

I have the same problem too. Started last year around May. I have had Doppler scan done and also an audiology examination, and everything looks OK on paper. However, the sound (especially in my left ear) is so annoying, especially when it is quiet around me. I have to sleep using my pillow to shut off the noise. Have you found a better way to cope? I am almost losing my mind. Thanks

Hi Jeff, of all the posts here and elsewhere, yours actually comes the closest to what I am experiencing. The feeling of 'wearing someone else's prescription glasses' is spot on; I actually think my issues started with strain and headache behind my right eye. Had a dull headache that lasted for about 4 days, and though my vision seemed fine, it just felt like physically moving my eyes (the right one mainly) was causing the strain and slight dizziness. The whooshing pulse sound came after these symptoms, and has not gone away. I feel these symptoms are all connected, though I have not yet consulted with a doctor. There is frustration that comes with the vague symptoms that are not easily seen or felt except by the one suffering! If you have made any progress in your own diagnosis, I would love to know. Many well wishes to you.

I have been experiencing this "pulsing" in my right ear, mostly. And I seem to notice it happening more in the evening. When I read that it stopped when you pressed on your neck, I tried it! YEP! It sure does! And what's more, it will change sides depending on which side of my neck I press on!! What is this?! Musical necks!!!?? But, I seem to also have a slight sinus-type headache with it. Like the kind we get when the clouds are dark, it's raining or going to, and the barometric pressure has changed. I can tell because the fusion in my back will ache or my fibromyalgia pain will increase. I wonder if this "pulsing" is weather-related, too? I hope your visit to the doctor results in a solution to this issue. I am going to pray for you and all of us who are dealing with this issue, and others, to be healed by my Lord Jesus Christ! God is the same yesterday, today and forever! So, I believe that He still heals today!
