I'm sorry this is so difficult for you. I've heard of an addiction to masturbation before and the same effects as what you're describing.

First of all, I don't think a urologist would be able to help you. Your problem is based on emotions and mentality, not as much as physicality. A urologist would only be able to help on the physical part of your addiction.

Your best bet is finding a psychologist or group that specializes in sexual addiction. They would have enough information and skill to help you. Besides, a group would provide a tremendous amount of support. Look in your phone directory and search for groups under "psychologists" or "psychology." If it doesn't show that, you can anonymously call and ask about sexual or masturbation addiction support groups. Perhaps they would have that under self-help/support groups or hot lines/help lines under community and human services.

I understand you're only 15 and that that would be difficult. However, TRY. Ask yourself if it's worth it to save your schoolwork and relationships.

As far as quitting, it's been established that the best way to quit an addiction or habit is cold turkey. Give it at least three weeks to feel okay. But I still strongly suggest you get in touch with an addiction specialist so that you can get on a path to permanently stop.

Even if everyone can tell you how easy this is, it is not. Cure for masturbation addiction does exist, but if you don't have a great will to get rid of it and if you constantly think about this, you're in a problem. Neither one of therapeutic persons can help you with this.

You really should get to know what do you want and then you should go and see your physiologist. Find someone to whom you trust and tell him how you feel. You are only 15, your body is developing, you are getting to know yourself better, etc.

So many factors that you need to pass, but to get rid of that addiction, you need to make an effort.

Just try to go a little at a time. Go one day without doing it, then go two days, then 4 then a week.. Etc. Dont feel bad if you give in, you can't have success without failure. Once you go a week without doing it, it gets progressively easier and soon you won't feel like you have to do it at all. Once a month is not bad either.

Check out Sexaholics Anonymous (www.sa.org): Sexaholics Anonymous is one of several twelve-step programs for compulsive sexual acting-out based on the original Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. SA takes its place among various twelve-step groups that seek recovery from sexual addiction: Sex Addicts Anonymous, Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous, Sexual Compulsives Anonymous and Sexual Recovery Anonymous. Collectively these groups are referred to as "S" groups since all their acronyms begin with that letter: SA, SAA, SLAA, SCA, SRA.
