Hello, folks. I have been recently diagnosed with hematuria and calculosis. I know what these terms mean. I just came here to find out what the treatment was for these conditions. Can anyone help me? I would really appreciate any kind of answer considering this topic. Thanks for all who answer my post.
Hi, there. For those who don’t know, hematuria is the presence of blood in urine. It is a sign, not a disease. It can be caused by many factors. Since you know that you have calculosis, this is probably what is causing your hematuria. You will treat it with standard procedures for calculosis. The usual method is surgery. However, if the stone is smaller than 2 cm, experts recommend ESWL. ESWL stands for extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy and it means that an ultrasound is used for destroying the stone. You should discuss about this with your doctor. I hope everything will be all right. Bye!
