Developed HO (the growth of bone in the soft tissues) after total hip replacement. Have been in almost constant pain for 5 months. They now tell me I need another surgery to remove the bone. Has anyone else had this problem? Does the surgery work and will it make the pain go away?

After 2 THA surgeries on my right hip, I developed HO and had to have a 3rd THA surgery to remove it. It involved another THA (cup and ball, only) and one radiation treatment. Still in recovery. Pain has diminished but range of motion (ROM) has not returned. Still at only about 60%. 3 THA's in five years is not a fun thing.
