I can't believe some of the posts I read on here..I am in no way an "expert" on addiction or recovery but I DO have ALOT of long time experience with it and the one thing I have found to be true and it surely shows up on posts alot..is being honest about your own addiction or recovery!!! If you can't be honest with yourself then please don't go and post BS for another person who is really seeking some help and wants to find treatment/recovery to read! The sad thing about it is also that some people have BS'd themselves so much and for so long they couldn't find honesty or truth if it slapped them in the face! I am sorry, but HONESTY is in fact the foundation for a successful recovery! That's it!! Honesty got me to where I am today and it didn't come easy by no means, but once I did get honest with myself, then with all of my caregivers..the rest fell into place with hard work and dedication to my recovery! I don't wish an addiction on my worst enemy because it is such a demon that nobody on this earth should ever have to be faced with! Best to all of you!!!
You should get off it now!!!! My mistake was that once I thought I might be addicted, I was too afraid to accept it and ask for help, so it just got worse and worse and worse.....you DO NOT want to get there. I was originally prescribed Vicodin for back pain, and it was the beginning of the end. Then you will start to do ANYTHING to get your "fix" because your body will be physically dependent. Depending on your insurance, I recommend doing inpatient, or outpatient at the least, so you can learn how to cope with your pain without the pain meds. Trust me, YOU CAN! I live with chronic pain I mean worst case, you can get on suboxone. You should talk to an addictionologist actually. They can help you get off it. Good luck!! DO IT NOW BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE, TRUST ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
