Can you tell me if my grandfather will be all right? He is 71 years old and just had a heart attack. The doctors told us that some muscle fibers of his heart stopped functioning and are considered dead. How important is the size of the dead tissue? Is he again in some kind of danger?
I guess that could depend on the size of that dead tissue. But the most important thing here is the location. If the necrosis happened in the area that is vital for the normal heart functioning, then we could say that your grandfather might be having some more health difficulties. But, of course, the smaller the affected area, the better odds for him.
