I had a epsiode of anxiety and panic disorder that started when my dad died and lasted about 4 months. When I felt panic it lasted hours or days... I've never felt a panic attack that lasted such a short time as 5-10 minute like it always is described. My muscles tense, it's hard to breathe, my adrenline won't stop and I feel fear of doing anything. The only thing that has helped is meditation. A year later my last panic episode and it started again today... hoping I can get it under control again and not have to suffer.

You have yo get to the not ton if what is causing this torchure to you. The mind is the controller of the body ,but it is always influenced by your inner thoughts, so you have to work with someone who can help you to dig for the answer to these symptoms. Your life can be better and it will get better ,but search for the answers with someone who has expierence helping you to do this .just hang in there and be stronger then your symptoms are and keep digging for answers, you will fing them with help.
God is with you all the time.Pray and ask for his help too. Things will change for you.stay busy .keep your mind on other things. Good thoughts if you can. Start doing things for other people.you have to trian your mind to function in another way a good way for your well being, good thoughts, force yourself to smile more. Reach out to other people. We are all in this together.
God be with you and heal you .kerp on trying it will come to you

I do as well. It's the shortness of breath that is bad for me. It take a long time for me to try to get it in control. And yes I suffer. It's scary and I constantly think about heart attaches .i take my B/P and pulse and it's always fast and B/P is up some but not a lot. So I tale asprin and a panic pill and a heart pill( only one that slows my heart down some). And wait....... It's 5am now. Sometimes it wakes me up at 2am and it's the same thing. Takes awhile to get my symptom to calm down. I think the chemicals in my brain just go off for no reason, because I have had so many worries and troubles that it just gives off steam in the middle of the night. So many people have that now so we are not alone. Which actually does not help, but at least I know some of my friends are fighting the same Demond's
I am. Guess it's part of trying to cope with surviving in a world that is falling apart.
It's sad that we have to deal with this, but good news the panic finally goes away and we are o.k.until the next time. If you have a plan to try. Read a book. Do something positive. Keep a log of your thoughts. Every time, maybe you can see a pattern of some kind . That's what I have done this early am. See if we can figure our what it is about.them try differant things to try to stop the symptoms .
What it it that brings it on? What will stop it?

when i have panic attacks (which happens less often since being prescribed medication) it can last anywhere from 10-30 minutes i'd say. maybe longer. when it finally ends, i feel really drained and out of breath for the next 1-2 weeks, which can make life miserable as it can sometimes lead to more panic attacks.

I'm not an expert but I have found you can have a panic attack about 10 minutes and start coming out of it and lapse into another one so quick/ multiples that it can go on half an hour or more seems like the same one because its so fast.
